The Ego's Amnesia: How to Live Here Without Forgetting Home
Do you ever feel like you’re not from here? Or maybe you feel like you’re missing something? I felt that way as a child. A foreigner wandering the planet thinking nothing made any sense. I blended in on the outside but always felt like this world wasn’t my real home. It doesn’t take long and the ego jumps in and begins conditioning our minds to become vested in the world. We learn the game of survival, and forget that original feeling might be our longing to remember Home. This episode is about the ego’s amnesia: the trance that makes us forget who we are in God, then sends us on a scavenger hunt for the answer outside ourselves. Today we look at five ways the mind keeps the amnesia in place, and how to undo them without leaving your life: The belief in separation that keeps us running around like busy ants. Projection: treating the world like a popular new Netflix series we have to solve. Making everything personal and reinforcing our identity. Grievances that turn love into “I’m right, you’re the bad guy.” Special love and special hate, the ego’s doctorate in relationships. The feeling that you don’t belong here isn’t a diagnosis. It’s the call to wake up. Spirit is already on the line. You don’t have to check out of your life to pick it up. You can bridge the gap and bring the lighter, wiser Teacher into everyday life. Listen now, then share it with someone who’s been feeling the call to see things differently.
