Are We Living in a Simulation? – The Search for Reality’s Hidden Code
What if the reality around you isn’t quite what it appears to be? The deeper you go down the simulation hypothesis rabbit hole, the stranger the questions become. Why can the universe be described so precisely by mathematics? Does reality have a minimum “resolution”? And why does the quantum world behave so differently from the reality we experience every day? Then there’s something even stranger: mathematical structures resembling error-correcting codes appearing in advanced theoretical physics. In this episode, we follow the trail from Nick Bostrom’s famous Simulation Argument to Donald Hoffman’s theory of reality as an interface, James Gates’ remarkable mathematical connections, quantum physics, cosmic rays, and the mysterious Gateway document produced by U.S. Army Intelligence. Some trails lead nowhere. Others become much stranger the closer you look. Because perhaps the wrong question is whether we live in a simulation. Maybe we should be asking: If we do… how could we ever find out? ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★
