Aug 21, 202610 minS4
Lucas and Luna dive into Apple's quiet push to make the iPhone a serious tool for professional filmmakers, focusing on the new ProRes workflow and the surprising role of the A18 Pro chip. They break down how the iPhone 17 Pro's camera system, combined with the new Final Cut Camera app, allows directors to shoot, edit, and color-grade on the device itself. The conversation explores the implications for indie filmmakers, the growing appeal of the iPhone as a B-camera on big sets, and what this means for the future of mobile filmmaking. With a nod to the recent iPhone 17 Pro launch and the buzz around the 'Shot on iPhone' campaign, they explain why Apple's latest move is less about specs and more about workflow — and why that could be a game-changer for creators on a budget.
