Foresight
We are back in the building. In this raw extraction, we pivot away from external noise and turn the microscope strictly inward to examine the mechanics of live performance, human fallibility, and the physical reality of the stage. What happens when your nervous system is pushed to an extreme it has never experienced before? What is the tactical protocol when you hit a mental block in front of a live crowd? Too often, operators and creators choose to violently scold themselves when the machinery stalls. They demand absolute perfection from a completely unpredictable terrain. In this episode, I break down a real-world observation of a fellow poet navigating physical vulnerability on stage, and share my own tactical approach to leaning into the moment when the mind goes blank. We discuss the fine line between being resilient and knowing exactly when to allow yourself to be permeable.
