Episode #5
Bechorot 16: Iron Sheep
Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note. Today's daf is about money. Bekhorot 16 describes a "guaranteed investment" in which a Jew takes animals from a gentile, and the full price is owed even if the animal dies. The rabbis call it tzon barzel , iron sheep, and the name says it all: the animal is mortal, but the debt is not. Through a Messianic Jewish lens, we look at the obligations that never seem to shrink, what it means to hold things that are on loan, and the One who cancels the record of debt. Come find out what it means to be bought with a price.
