What Your Body Has Been Trying to Tell You All Along with Kyra Thompson
Aug 14, 202650 minS3
Julissa sits down with trauma-informed breathwork facilitator Kyra Thompson, who walked away from a corporate career, sold everything she owned, and moved across the world to Bali, only to find, in her first breathwork class, that safety was something she could create inside her own body. From there the conversation goes deep: what it actually means to listen to your body, why disease might just be stored energy looking for release, and why doing all the right practices doesn't mean the hard feelings disappear. Julissa and Kyra get honest about the "waiting period" of healing (the space between doing the work and seeing it pay off) and how entrepreneurship keeps mirroring back their own scarcity and self-worth wounds. Julissa also opens up about her own grounding practices, perimenopause, and the very unglamorous, very human reality behind the calm voice her clients know her for. Talked about in this episode: Kyra's path from college athlete to burnt-out corporate job to selling everything and moving to Bali Why disease might just be stored energy trapped in the body The "waiting period" between doing the inner work and actually feeling different Where anxiety, responsibility, and unworthiness physically show up in the body Julissa's rule for when it's ethical to bring spiritual/somatic work to a client in crisis Connect with Kyra on Instagram Kyra's Website ---- Interested in the Mindset Mastery Method? Why Your 40s Might Be the Most Freeing Decade of Your Life with Marly Viviana
Aug 7, 20261h 2mS3
Julissa sits down in person for the first time with her friend and neighbor Marly Viviana (a Colombian immigrant, former police officer and nurse, now a Charleston wedding and elopement photographer) for a conversation about what happens when the identity you built your whole life around disappears. It's raw, funny, and full of the kind of overlap that only happens between two women who've both learned to jump without a plan. They trace Marly's path through the military, law enforcement, nursing school with a six-week-old on stage, and now photography, unpacking why leaving a career doesn't mean losing yourself and how turning 40 gave Marly permission to stop performing and start trusting herself. Talked about in this episode: Leaving the police force and losing (then rebuilding) her sense of identity Graduating nursing school with a six-week-old baby The immigrant pressure of "you can't slack" across generations Turning 40 as what Marly calls a "magical spark" of freedom The dopamine crash after pouring everything into a big creative launch or event Connect with Marly on Instagram Marly's Website --- Interested in the Mindset Mastery Method? Subconscious Reprogramming 101: How Identity Work Rewrites Your Story with Tricia Keightley
Jul 31, 202656 minS3
Julissa sits down with entrepreneur Tricia Keightley for a conversation that goes straight to identity: why 95% of what we do runs on autopilot, and how some of us get subconsciously addicted to chaos even when we say we want peace. Tricia opens up about growing up in a volatile home, the divorce that kicked off her healing journey, and how "not being enough" gets wired into us before we can even talk. It's a rich, wide-ranging conversation about identity, ancestry, and what it actually takes to break a generational pattern. Talked about in this episode: The iceberg model of the subconscious: 95% autopilot, 5% conscious choice Why some of us get "addicted" to chaos and roller coaster relationships Life coaching vs. therapy: knowing when someone isn't ready for identity work Why affirmations only work when your body believes them The power of admitting the bad before it gets good Building AI with a moral code foundation Connect with Tricia on Instagram ! --- Interested in the Mindset Mastery Method? Same Life, Different Lens: Larissa's Journey inside MMM
Jul 24, 202636 minS3
In the final episode of the MMM series, Julissa sits down with client Larissa, who joined the program feeling stuck, resentful, and convinced her life was simply happening to her. Six months, a surprise pregnancy, a family health scare, and a major work upheaval later, Larissa shares what actually shifted, and it wasn't her circumstances. Julissa and Larissa unpack how tools as simple as box breathing and boundaries can restructure an entire nervous system, why accepting help felt harder than doing it all alone, and how the hardest season of Larissa's life became proof the work was already paying off. It's a raw, honest look at what transformation really costs; and what it gives back. Talked about in this episode: Going from victim mentality to "I'm not stuck, it's my approach" Boundaries as the biggest single takeaway from MMM Reframing a triggering moment Box breathing and learning to locate emotion in the body Why the hardest six months of her life proved she needed the program most The unexpected power of healing through her cohort's stories, not just her own Interested in the Mindset Mastery Method? Perimenopause, Strength Training, and Movement for Women with Angie Spinelli
Jul 17, 20261h 15mS3
Julissa sits down with Angie Spinelli, a Charleston-based fitness professional of over 23 years, to talk about what it really means to rebuild a career and a body in a new season of life. They cover the phases every woman moves through, prenatal, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, and why "movement is medicine" isn't just a slogan but a daily practice of strength, stillness, and self-trust. Along the way: yoga as a spiritual practice, the myth that exercise is only about weight loss, and why "power in the pause" might be the most important lesson of all. Talked about in this episode: Getting laid off after 21 years when the gym was bought out Yoga as "a journey to the self through the self," not just stretching The power in the pause: using breath work to calm the nervous system Strength training and lifting heavy weights as women age Reframing menopause and perimenopause as a season with real positives Why "I hate exercise, will I still lose weight?" is the wrong question entirely Connect with Angie on Instagram ! --- Interested in the Mindset Mastery Method? What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
