What Are You Holding Back From Jesus? | Monday Moments — Episode 177
What if following Jesus isn't about having it all together - but about bringing what we have to Him and trusting Him with the rest? In this episode of Monday Moments, Travis and Pastor James take a deeper look at Sunday's message from John 6 and the feeding of the 5,000. Through the contrast between Philip and Andrew, we see two very different ways of responding when Jesus calls us to something that seems impossible. Philip looked at what was available and calculated the lack. Andrew found a boy with five loaves and two fish and brought what he had - even though it seemed insignificant compared to the need. How often do we do the same thing? We look at our resources, our knowledge, our past failures, or our circumstances and decide that we don't have enough to make a difference. But Jesus isn't asking us to do His work in our own strength. He invites us to take a step of obedience, bring what we have, and trust Him to do what only He can do. This conversation explores: • The danger of a scarcity mindset • Why we'll never feel like we have "enough" when we're living by faith • The difference between trusting our resources and trusting God's provision • Why Jesus provides more than the bare minimum • What it means to see discipleship as partnership with Jesus • Learning to come to Jesus with the uninhibited trust of a child • What we may be withholding because of fear, control, or resentment • Why obedience means following what Jesus actually asks - not simply asking Him to bless what we've already decided to do The question isn't, "Do I have enough?" The question is, "Am I willing to put what I have in Jesus' hands?" When we surrender what we have to Him, we can trust Him with what we cannot do on our own. As the conversation emphasizes, the goal isn't simply that everyone gets "a little." Jesus brought satisfaction - and abundance remained. Where Jesus leads, He provides. Monday Moments is a deeper dive into Sunday's sermon and God's Word, designed to help us think more deeply about what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life. #MondayMoments #Discipleship #John6 #Faith #TrustGod #GodsProvision #FollowingJesus
