The serpent does not begin with a command, but with a question: “Did God actually say?” Sin starts by doubting God’s Word, questioning God’s goodness, and believing the lie that disobedience will give us what God is withholding. Genesis 3 reminds us that sin brings loss, curse, hiding, blame, pain, and death—but it also shows us the first promise of gospel hope. Before humanity fixes anything, before anyone repairs what was broken, God promises that the offspring of the woman will crush the serpent’s head. So today, read Genesis 3 and remember: where death entered, God promised life; and Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.
