REAL STRENGTH SERVES
Mark 10:45
Aug 21, 20261 minS3
Would you still serve if it cost you something—and nobody ever gave you credit for it? Mark 10:45 tells us, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” Men’s work isn’t about demanding respect. It’s about becoming a man worthy of respect through service, sacrifice, and responsibility. Anybody can step up when there’s recognition waiting for them. Character is revealed when you serve your family, your brothers, and the people around you when there’s nothing in it for you. Real strength doesn’t ask: “What do I get in return?” It asks: “How can I serve today?” Want to become the kind of man others can depend on? HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH? More money. More success. More attention. More followers. More validation. More. More. More. And somehow… it’s still never enough. In Episode 12 of The Seven Deadly Sins , we look at Proverbs 28:25 and the sin of greed —and why greed isn’t determined by how much you have. It’s determined by your relationship with more . There’s nothing wrong with ambition, building wealth, or wanting a better life. But there’s a huge difference between building something and believing the next achievement will finally make you valuable. Maybe you don’t need another blessing. Maybe you need to become a better steward of what God has already trusted you with. So ask yourself: If I finally get what I’m chasing… will it actually be enough? Maybe the answer starts with gratitude. Stand firm. Walk humbly. Build the man who leads the legacy. #SevenDeadlySins #Greed #Proverbs2825 #BiblicalManhood #ChristianMen #Gratitude #MensGrowth #FaithBasedCoaching #MensWork #NorthmanCoaching
When you walk into a room, does your presence bring out the best in people—or does your ego bring more conflict with it? In Mark 9:50, Jesus says, “Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.” Men’s work isn’t just about becoming stronger. It’s about developing the character to bring honesty, wisdom, and peace into every room you enter. That doesn’t mean avoiding difficult conversations. It means learning to challenge your brothers without tearing them down, speak the truth without creating unnecessary conflict, and recognize when your ego is adding chaos instead of helping solve the problem. Ask yourself: Do I bring peace into the room—or does my ego bring chaos? A strong man can challenge others. A mature man knows how to do it without destroying the room. Proverbs 27:4 warns us that jealousy can be even more dangerous than anger—and there’s a reason for that. Anger usually shows itself. Envy can shake your hand, congratulate you, tell you it’s happy for you… and secretly resent the fact that you’re winning. In Episode 11 of The Seven Deadly Sins , we’re talking about the kind of envy that turns blessings into comparisons, friends into competitors, and gratitude into resentment. Someone else’s success didn’t take anything away from you. But if their win bothers you, it may be exposing something inside you that needs attention. Stop asking, “Why them?” Start asking, “What can I learn from them?” Stop watching their field. Start tending to yours. Stand firm. Walk humbly. Build the man who leads the legacy. #SevenDeadlySins #Envy #Jealousy #Proverbs274 #BiblicalManhood #ChristianMen #MensGrowth #FaithBasedCoaching #MensWork #NorthmanCoaching
Everybody wants to be important. Not everybody wants to serve. In Mark 10:43–44, Jesus completely flips the world's definition of leadership: if you want to become great, become a servant. Men’s work isn’t about becoming the loudest or most powerful man in the room. It’s about becoming the man your family, your friends, and your brothers can depend on. Put down the ego. Take responsibility. Serve when nobody is watching—and when nobody is applauding. Instead of asking, “Who’s going to take care of me?” Ask yourself: “Who needs me to step up today?” That’s leadership.
