Film critic and author Billups Allen hosts a one-minute appeal for the listener to revisit a broad scope of art films, cult movies, silly movies, and other films languishing between the cracks of film history. Many of the films chosen are available, or have screenings scheduled in one of Memphis, Tennessee's many repertory and/or video institutions such as the Crosstown Arts Film Series, The Time Warp Drive-In Movie Summer Series, The Indie Memphis Film Festival, and Black Lodge Video. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a creative writing major and a film minor. He has worked in seven different record stores around the country and currently lives in Memphis, Tennessee where he works for Goner Records, publishes Cramhole zine, contributes music and movie writing regularly to Razorcake, Ugly Things, and Lunchmeat magazines, and writes fiction.
