Every line of code, every pull request, every debate about licensing — open source is the invisible architecture of modern technology. In Open Source with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna cut through the hype to examine the real economics, governance, and community dynamics behind Linux, GitHub, and the projects that run the internet. They don't just celebrate open source; they interrogate it. How does a volunteer-driven kernel sustain itself against corporate interests? What happens when a maintainer burns out? Why do some forks thrive while others vanish? Each episode takes one concrete case — a major project's governance shift, a controversial license change, a security incident that exposed supply chain fragility — and traces its implications for developers, businesses, and users. Lucas brings the journalist's rigor, digging into commit histories, funding data, and mailing list archives. Luna pushes back with the practitioner's instinct, asking what these abstractions mean for the person wr

The AI Code Crisis That Open Source Must Solve
Sep 29, 202610 minS5
We explore the growing tension between open source maintainers and artificial intelligence companies that scrape code for training data without contributing back. Using the recent legal battles involving GitHub Copilot and the broader shift in how LLMs ingest repositories, we examine why the current model is unsustainable. Lucas breaks down the specific mechanics of how code gets ingested into models, while Luna questions whether licensing changes can actually stop big tech from free-riding on community labor. We look at concrete examples of projects dropping out of public indexes and what this means for the future of collaborative software development. #OpenSource #ArtificialIntelligence #GitHub #LLM #CodeScraping #IntellectualProperty #SoftwareDevelopment #TechLaw #MachineLearning #CommunityDriven #Copyright #DataPrivacy #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #TechIndustry #DeveloperTools #Innovation #CorporateResponsibility Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
We look at the quiet crisis facing open source infrastructure. Most critical software runs on volunteer labor with zero revenue. We examine how projects like Node.js and Python are shifting to corporate funding models without losing their independence. This is Episode 200 of our series, and we break down the real economics of community-driven code in September 2026. #OpenSource #SoftwareEngineering #TechInfrastructure #NodeJS #PythonSoftwareFoundation #SustainableFunding #DeveloperEconomics #CommunityGovernance #CorporateSponsorship #TechPolicy #LinuxFoundation #DigitalPublicGoods #VentureCapital #NonprofitTech #CodeMaintenance #SecurityPatching #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Most open-source projects die not because of code quality, but because of trust erosion. In this episode, we examine how the Linux Foundation and major cloud providers are restructuring contributor agreements to solve the 'tragedy of the commons' at scale. We look at specific governance models like the Developer Certificate of Origin and how they prevent corporate takeovers while keeping communities human-driven. The data shows that projects with clear, transparent contribution paths see a forty percent increase in sustained maintainer retention compared to those with opaque governance. We break down why legal clarity is actually a feature, not a bug, for long-term software sustainability. #OpenSource #SoftwareGovernance #LinuxFoundation #DeveloperExperience #TechCommunity #TrustMechanisms #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #CloudComputing #CodeOfConduct #MaintainerBurnout #CorporateSponsorship #LegalCompliance #CollaborativeCoding #TechLeadership #DigitalInfrastructure #FutureOfWork #LucasAndLuna Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
We dive into the recent shift in how major corporations treat open source contributions, specifically looking at the new licensing frameworks introduced by GitHub and Linux Foundation members. With over one hundred million developers relying on community code, the legal gray areas around liability and indemnification are finally being addressed. We break down what this means for independent contributors and why the old 'as-is' model is disappearing. #OpenSource #SoftwareLicensing #GitHub #LinuxFoundation #TechLaw #DeveloperRights #Indemnification #CorporateGovernance #CommunityCode #LegalCompliance #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #TechnologyNews #StartupAdvice #EnterpriseTech #IntellectualProperty #RiskManagement #DigitalInfrastructure Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Lucas and Luna explore how the Linux kernel’s five-minute patch review process transforms individual code contributions into global infrastructure standards. They examine the governance model that allows thousands of developers to maintain stability while driving innovation, focusing on the specific mechanics of how a single line of code can become a worldwide default. The conversation highlights the balance between community-driven development and corporate interests, offering listeners a behind-the-scenes look at the decision-making hierarchy that keeps the internet running. #OpenSource #LinuxKernel #GitHub #TechGovernance #SoftwareEngineering #CommunityDriven #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #TechInfrastructure #DeveloperWorkflow #CodeReview #DigitalStandards #TechLeadership #Innovation #Collaboration #SystemArchitecture #TechHistory #FutureOfTech Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Every question we get asked before someone starts their trial.
If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
