Episode 378: Barry Coffing (Springboard Fest) [Washington DC]
Episode 378 features Barry Coffing of Springboard Fest. We (The Hollow Truths) will be playing Springboard East in Washington DC this Saturday at 1pm and I will also be featured on a podcast panel Thursday 8/13 at the convention! The conference is free to attend and if you are looking for new information and guidance on the music industry this is rare opportunity to come out and learn more about what you could be doing to improve your music career! Barry is a Houston raised songwriter, producer, and music industry entrepreneur who has spent decades on both sides of the glass. After cutting his teeth as a performing artist and jingle writer, he moved to Los Angeles and built a career placing over 200 of his own songs in film and television, including work tied to The Heights, California Dreams, and the number one hit How Do You Talk to an Angel. Today Barry runs Music Supervisor Inc., a licensing company that represents tens of thousands of labels and artists for film, TV, and advertising. He is also the founder of the Springboard Festivals, artist focused conferences and showcases (Springboard South, West, and beyond) that give independent musicians real mentorship, industry access, and a legitimate shot at the next level through Band Bootcamp and live performances. In this episode, Barry talks about building sustainable careers for artists, the difference between hype and real opportunity, and why platforms like Springboard still matter in a streaming dominated world. Brett Buehler (host) is the songwriter of the hollow truths based in Maryland. Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out. Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.
