Dr. Faraz Harsini: Animal Rights, Vegan Activism & Inspiring the Next Generation
Plant Based Coaches welcomes Dr. Faraz Harsini for an important conversation about animal rights, vegan activism, factory farming, animal testing, and what each of us can do to help create a more compassionate world. Dr. Harsini shares his experiences visiting college campuses across the United States and speaking with students about animal rights and veganism. He explains why college students can be especially receptive to these conversations: many are at a point in their lives when they are forming their values, questioning established systems, and making independent choices about the kind of world they want to help create. We also discuss the realities of factory farming and animal testing, the role vegan documentaries can play in opening people's eyes, and why education and outreach are so important to the animal rights movement. Dr. Harsini offers his perspective on how vegans can move beyond their own personal choices and become effective advocates for animals—whether through conversations, campus outreach, organized activism, or simply helping others understand why these issues matter. The conversation also looks at the bigger picture: healing our planet, creating a more compassionate relationship with animals, and showing people that activism doesn't have to be intimidating. You don't have to do everything—you can find a form of advocacy that fits your personality, skills, and comfort level and still make a difference.
