S5, E6: "All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace" by Richard Brautigan
<p>Richard Brautigan was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1935 and died in 1984. He had an unhappy childhood marked by poverty, and in his teens was committed to Oregon State Hospital where he received electroshock therapy. </p><p>Moving to San Francisco, he published the novel Trout Fishing in America in 1967 which established him as a literary force.</p><p>That same year, while poet-in-residence at the California Institute of Technology, Brautigan wrote "All Watched Over By Machines of Loving Grace", and the poem was later published in a collection of the same name.</p><p>This poem has been interpreted...
