COME AND SEE | "Come and See a Land of Scarcity"
One of the first things Jesus did in his public ministry was invite people to become his disciples. In the first chapter of John's gospel, he used the phrase "come and see" as part of that invitation. To "see" means to observe and listen within a specific real-world context and this fall we will specifically be looking at the character of the land in the Bible. As we continue to study the land as "character" in the Bible, we examine how immediately following the call of Abram, two verses later, there was a famine in the land. Why? What did this mean? Why was the land constantly having famines along with other issues. The week, Pastor Karla talks about how famine reveals the limits of the land to invite dependence on God.
