We're So Wired for Work We Simulate It for Fun
We spend a lot of time dreaming about the day when technology does all the work for us. But here's the funny thing: people are spending millions of hours playing video games where they power wash sidewalks, mow lawns, run farms, stock store shelves, and even manage a 1990s video rental shop. Apparently, after a long day of work, we like to unwind by pretending to do... more work. Maybe that's because work itself isn't the problem. Deep down, we all want to contribute, create, fix, build, organize, and accomplish something that matters. Long before work became stressful or exhausting, it was part of God's good design. We were made with a desire for purpose, and whether we're cleaning a real driveway or a virtual one, something in us comes alive when we can look at a task and say, "I did that." The longing isn't just for rest. It's for meaningful work that reminds us we were made for more than simply passing the time. Click PLAY and let us know if you agree!
