Episode #77
C3 S77 Intermission: Into the Void
Before the crown was cold. Before the throne learned to stop breathing. Before the word "twilight" meant anything but a color in the sky —there was a kingdom called Aethelgard, and it was dying. The gods that were supposed to hear it had stopped listening centuries ago, too busy tearing each other's thrones apart to notice one more kingdom starving in the dark. The old light had abandoned them. The old gods had abandoned them. And a king with nothing left to lose did something no one else had thought to try. You can watch Prestige Encounters live on twitch Wednesdays at 8:00pm Eastern at https://twitch.tv/lichsouls.He prayed to the one god who wasn't fighting.Something answered. Something fell from the sky that night; burning, black, and wrong. It buried itself in springs that used to run gold. And somewhere in a besieged, forgotten kingdom, a handful of ordinary people are about to be handed a shovel, a deadline, and a summons from Above they were never supposed to attract. What you dig up tonight doesn't just save a kingdom. It ends one, and starts something else entirely — something with your fingerprints on it, whether history remembers your name or not.
