How Airlines Price Your Seat by the Minute
Aug 21, 202610 minS4
In this episode, Lucas and Luna dive into the invisible engine that decides what you pay for a plane ticket: dynamic pricing. Using the familiar example of a mid-week flight from New York to London, they unpack how airlines forecast demand, adjust fares in real time, and fill seats without giving away revenue. They discuss the role of competitor tracking, the surprisingly small number of fare classes, and why booking exactly 54 days ahead can save you money. Along the way, they connect the airline playbook to surge pricing at ride-hailing apps and the ethical edge of price discrimination. If you've ever wondered why your seatmate paid half your fare, this episode explains the machinery—without the jargon. Plus, Lucas shares a personal story of watching a fare jump by $200 while he hesitated at checkout. #DynamicPricing #AirlinePricing #RevenueManagement #YieldManagement #Airfare #ConsumerBehavior #PricingStrategy #Business #Finance #Travel #Aviation #SupplyAndDemand #PriceOptimization #BookingTips #LoyaltyPrograms #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #PricingPower Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Why do BOGO deals make us buy things we never planned to buy? In this episode of Pricing Power, Lucas and Luna unpack the psychology and economics behind buy-one-get-one-free promotions. From the anchor effect that makes the free item feel irresistible to the way retailers use them to clear inventory and boost average transaction value, they explore why BOGO works so well and where it can backfire. Using examples from grocery stores, apparel brands, and even software subscriptions, they explain the difference between BOGO and straight discounts, how consumers can train themselves to see through the framing, and why some retailers are moving away from the tactic. If you've ever added a second shirt to your cart just because the first was full price, this episode will change how you see those signs. #BuyOneGetOneFree #BOGO #PricingPsychology #RetailPricing #ConsumerBehavior #SalesPromotion #DiscountStrategy #AnchoringEffect #LossAversion #InventoryClearance #AverageTransactionValue #GroceryPricing #FashionRetail #SoftwarePricing #BehavioralEconomics #PricingStrategy #Business #FexingoBusiness Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
In this episode of Pricing Power, Lucas and Luna dive into Nintendo's pricing strategy, using the classic NES and Super Mario Bros. as a case study. They explore how Nintendo balances the value of nostalgia with modern game pricing, from the NES Classic Edition to the Switch's flagship titles. The conversation covers the psychological pricing of retro hardware, the economics of scarcity, and the challenge of maintaining a premium brand in a world of digital discounts. With a nod to the recent 'Super Mario Bros. Wonder' and the enduring appeal of a $60 game, the hosts unpack why Nintendo rarely drops prices and what that means for consumer loyalty. A blend of business analysis and pop culture, this episode offers a concrete takeaway about pricing emotional connections. How Movie Theaters Price Popcorn and Survive Streaming
Aug 18, 20269 minS4
In this episode of Pricing Power, Lucas and Luna unpack the economics behind movie theater concessions — why a large popcorn can cost more than a ticket, how theaters price differently by format and time, and why the model is built on a reluctant monopoly. They walk through the math of a $7 soda versus a $14 ticket, the role of 70/30 revenue splits with studios, and how theaters are adapting with premium formats and dynamic pricing in August 2026. Along the way, they offer a candid aside about how listener support keeps the podcast ad-free. Specific numbers and real-world examples ground the conversation, giving you a clear takeaway about the hidden economics of your next night out. #MovieTheaterPricing #ConcessionPricing #CinemaEconomics #PopcornMarkup #AMCTheatres #RegalCinemas #DynamicPricing #PremiumFormats #Business #PricingPower #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #PricingStrategy #ConsumerEconomics #EntertainmentBusiness #StudioRevenueShare #TheaterMargins #ListenerSupported Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How Netflix Prices Its Tiers and Keeps the Premium
Aug 17, 20269 minS4
Netflix has quietly restructured how it prices streaming — not just by raising the monthly bill, but by reshaping its tiers, its ad-supported plan, and its password-sharing rules. In this episode, Lucas and Luna unpack the strategy behind the 2025 price hikes and the 2026 crackdown on shared accounts. They break down the numbers: how the standard plan crept past 20 dollars a month in the U.S., why the ad tier is now the cheapest entry point, and how Netflix uses price discrimination to capture more value from superfans while keeping budget-conscious viewers on the hook. They also look at the broader streaming market: why competitors like Disney Plus and Max are following the same playbook, and whether Netflix's pricing power can hold as growth slows. If you've ever wondered why your Netflix bill keeps creeping up — or why the ad tier feels like the new default — this episode explains the economics behind the screen. #NetflixPricing #StreamingWars #PriceDiscrimination #SubscriptionEconomics #AdSupportedTier #PasswordSharing #NetflixStrategy #StreamingIndustry #PricingPower #ConsumerBehavior #BusinessStrategy #MediaEconomics #Netflix #DisneyPlus #MaxStreaming #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #PricingStrategy Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Every question we get asked before someone starts their trial.
If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
