Guest: Sign Guy — Promoter of Turnbuckle Turmoil Championship Wrestling - Episode 38

  Sep 27, 202659 min

The Outlaws return with a wild, story‑packed episode featuring longtime Pacific Northwest wrestling figure Sign Guy — a referee, manager, ring announcer, wrestler, podcaster, and now promoter of Turnbuckle Turmoil Championship Wrestling . Sign Guy breaks down his upcoming October 18th event in Skamokawa, Washington, including a Monsters Match main event (Big Vicious vs. Kongo Kong), an SP8 Rules bout, and multiple tag team clashes. From there, the crew dives deep into his decades-long journey in the business:• How Jerry Wilson and Dice Man Ronnie Vegas pulled him into HPW• His infamous “12‑foot face bump” at the Fireman’s Benefit Show — complete with separated shoulder, shattered orbital socket, and multiple skull fractures• Refereeing Darby Allin’s first-ever match • Working with a young Nick Wayne • Traveling thousands of miles with Kevin Sullivan , learning the craft directly from one of wrestling’s great minds• Memories from the ring with Tommy Rich, Doug Gilbert, Greg Valentine, and more Along the way, the Outlaws derail themselves with contractually obligated chaos, a surprise appearance from “Michael,” jokes about Dallas Dust, Brando’s forgotten podcast bookings, and a full roast of Sabotage’s infamous “loser wears a dress” match. If you love independent wrestling history, backstage stories, and the kind of unfiltered banter only this crew can produce, this episode delivers. Who Belongs on TNA’s Mount Rushmore?

  Aug 30, 202659 min

This week on Pro Wrestling Outlaws , the boys go long, go deep, and go completely off the rails in a way only they can. Albert, Dags, and Brando kick things off with a detour into Joshi history, Meltzer boomers, and a surprisingly heartfelt shout‑out to WrestleSpective’s documentary on All Japan Women’s Wrestling — a rare moment of sincerity before the wheels fall off. From there, chaos arrives in the form of Michael Caine , who storms in to announce he’s protesting the show after being “ECW’d” by Dags with a rubber check. His dramatic monologue — including a rant about his forgotten horror film The Hand and its alleged low‑budget remake The Foot — becomes an instant Outlaws classic. Once the dust settles, the crew dives into the main event: building the official Pro Wrestling Outlaws TNA Mount Rushmore . What follows is nearly an hour of passionate debate, deep‑cut history, and pure wrestling nerdery. Jeff Jarrett’s legacy, AJ’s peaks and valleys, Joe redefining the X Division, Sting’s complicated tenure, Gail Kim’s importance to the Knockouts division — every corner of TNA’s past gets dragged into the spotlight. The final verdict? Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, and Samoa Joe — with Gail Kim earning an honorary spot just off the mountain. Other highlights include: Brando’s passionate defense of Jeff Jarrett as the true cornerstone of TNA Albert’s reluctant but surprisingly strong case for Sting’s importance Dags’ argument that Gail Kim may be the most important woman in TNA history A detour into Raven, CM Punk, Mickey James, and the Gathering A closing stretch so unhinged it breaks Dags mid‑sentence This episode is pure Outlaws energy: wrestling history, absurd comedy, inside‑baseball storytelling, and the kind of chemistry you only get from friends who’ve been arguing about wrestling for decades. Return From Break and SummerSlam Moments

  Aug 16, 20261h 11m

The Outlaws return from their July hiatus with a chaotic, comedy‑heavy episode that feels like classic PWO: gimmick theft, Michael Caine financial disputes, Dallas Dust lore, and a full SummerSlam deep‑dive. The show opens with Albert, Brando, and Dags immediately falling into mid‑season form—Dags “steals the gimmick,” That's Gotta BeMichael Caine complains about being shaken down for money, and is furious about being “kept off the air for three weeks.” His sleaze‑list reading (Item #41) delivers the week’s first pop: “Bill pulled out a knife. Wolfie pulled out a spoon… ‘You’re not going to beat me at knifey‑spoonie.’” From there, the episode becomes a parade of running characters: Kevin hoarding Dallas Dust, Terry and Kerry teased but not summoned, and Michael Caine demanding “human monies” in either American dollars or British pounds. The crew debates whether they have enough budget to “curse Michael Caine,” while Albert insists he’s a British national treasure. A highlight lands when the group discusses the Hulk Hogan cameo sent to Albert, leading to praise for impressionist Rick Fields and a tangent about Stephen P. New’s shirts and the world‑class theme song. The main segment is a round‑robin of each host’s Top 3 SummerSlam Matches/Moments , covering eras from Bret vs. Perfect (’91) to Dom turning heel, Daniel Bryan’s 2013 triumph‑turned‑betrayal, Lawler vs. Bret (’93), Mankind vs. Triple H (’97), Shawn Michaels’ 2002 return, and the Mega Powers vs. Mega Bucks (’88). Each pick sparks deep wrestling‑nerd discussion, personal memories, and plenty of jokes—especially about Rodney Swift’s least‑favorite wrestlers. The episode closes with Albert channeling Jake Roberts, Savage, and Hogan impressions while the crew riffs on cobra bites, the Bloodline 2.0, Paul Roma’s infamous Alex Wright match, and Jason needing to get his lasagna in the oven. Overall, it’s a perfect “back from break” episode: loose, funny, nostalgic, and packed with wrestling history, inside jokes, and the unmistakable Outlaws chemistry. 4th of July All Star Extravaganza: Ready To Rumble Watch Along

  Jul 3, 20262h 8m

The Pro Wrestling Outlaws celebrated the 4th of July with a full All‑Star lineup: Albert , Brando , Dags , and the extended crew of Brandon , Diggy , Jason , Rodney , and Travis . The plan was simple—host a watch‑along of the 1999 cult classic Ready to Rumble . What actually happened was pure Outlaws chaos. The episode opens with Albert and Dags immediately derailing the intro with inside jokes, Hogan impressions, and Von Erich references. The All‑Stars pile in one by one, turning the opening minutes into a rapid‑fire comedy roast session. Technical issues hit fast: Tubi refuses to screen‑share , YouTube Premium won’t cooperate, and the crew spends several minutes trying to figure out who can share what without the FBI kicking in Albert’s door. Travis eventually gets the movie playing, but the audio is either too loud, too quiet, or drowned out by Terry Bollea monologues. Once the movie finally starts, the Outlaws spend more time burying the film than watching it.Highlights include: Albert’s Hulk Hogan impressions (“Brother, that doesn’t work for me, brother!”) Brando’s disgust at Oliver Platt being cast as Jimmy King The group popping huge for Macho Man’s cameo , the only universally praised part of the movie Everyone clowning on the movie’s portrayal of wrestling fans (“This movie makes all of us look like idiots.”) Travis reading lines with dramatic commitment that far exceeds the film’s own effort The crew debating WCW belts, Nitro Girls, and Vince Russo booking like it’s 1999 all over again Dags repeatedly reminding everyone that he’s watched this movie once and that was enough The watch‑along becomes less about the movie and more about the Outlaws riffing, roasting, and reminiscing. It’s a perfect example of the show’s charm: wrestling history, absurd humor, and a group of friends who know exactly how to push each other’s buttons. By the end, the movie is still terrible—but the episode is a riot. Trash TV & Territory Truths: Watching Morton Downey Jr.

  Jun 13, 20261h 14m

After a brief hiatus, the Outlaws are back and firing on all cylinders! This week, the guys dive deep into the vault to watch and dissect the utterly chaotic, infamous 1988 episode of the Morton Downey Jr. Show featuring professional wrestling. Before jumping into the watch-along, Albert unleashes a parade of classic wrestling character impressions during a "strike-induced" missing Sleaze List segment. Plus, Dags shares some major news about his retro tape archiving projects. The Blame Game: Dags, Albert, and Brando kick off the show by playfully trying to take accountability for the weeks they missed recording. The Missing Sleaze List: Albert announces he is officially "on strike" due to a lack of payment (specifically demanding some "Dallas dust"). The Guest Impostors: In lieu of the Sleaze List, Albert puts on an absolute masterclass in classic wrestling impressions, bringing "David from California," Michael, Kevin, Kerry Von Erich, and a thoroughly unhinged Macho Man Randy Savage into the studio for a hilarious debate on house show work rates. Dags officially announces the launch of his new YouTube channel dedicated to preserving classic wrestling footage. He breaks down his current workload, including migrating 1991 GWF tape content and a massive new upload of 1983 Southwest Championship Wrestling . The crew pulls up a chair to watch the explosive, loud, and completely out-of-control Morton Downey Jr. pro wrestling special . The Panel: The infamous 1988 lineup features anti-industry whistleblowers Jim Wilson and Thunderbolt Patterson squaring off against company-line defenders Dr. D. David Schultz , Captain Lou Albano , and Monster Factory owner Pretty Boy Larry Sharp , alongside independent promoter Dennis Coraluzo . Dr. D Rules the Room: The guys marvel at how Dr. D completely highjacks the broadcast, aggressively shouting down Jim Wilson's allegations, calling everyone "sour grapes," and dropping a classic promo about his current day job as a real-life bounty hunter. Captain Lou’s Hotline: Captain Lou effortlessly downplays his own drawing power as a wrestler while brilliantly utilizing his microphone time to plug his 1-900 wrestling hotline to the studio audience. The Historical Verdict: Looking back nearly 40 years later, Dags and Albert note the tragic irony of the episode: while Jim Wilson was utterly eaten alive on television because he couldn't cut a promo to save his life, history has ultimately proven almost all of his claims about the inner workings and lack of benefits in the wrestling business entirely correct. What's Coming Next Week? To close out the show, Albert challenges the group to track down and watch an actual Jim Wilson wrestling match for next week's episode just to see if his in-ring skills matched his controversial legacy—though Brando might be exercising his veto power!
