Getting promoted isn't about working harder — it's about navigating a system most people don't understand. Lucas and Luna dissect the unwritten rules of corporate advancement, from timing your ask to reading the org chart. Each episode takes one concrete scenario: how to prepare for a promotion conversation when you're a high performer but not a self-promoter, what a director-level title actually buys you versus a pay bump, or why some internal candidates are passed over for outsiders. They draw on published compensation data, real anonymized case studies from listeners, and research on organizational behavior — not anecdotes from 'what I did once.' Lucas brings the journalistic rigor (who gets promoted fastest, by industry; what the data says about gender and negotiation outcomes), Luna pushes back with the on-the-ground reality (how office politics actually works when you don't have a sponsor). Together they give you a playbook, but also the nuance: sometimes a title is a trap, and s

How to Negotiate a Promotion When You're Overqualified
Aug 27, 20268 minS4
In this episode of Promotion Path, Lucas and Luna tackle a counterintuitive career dilemma: being overqualified for the role you're interviewing for. Using the real-world example of a senior product manager who took a step down to join a fast-growing startup, they explore why overqualification can be a red flag for hiring managers—and how to flip it into leverage. Lucas breaks down the psychology behind the concern, from fear of flight risk to threat to the manager's own job, and outlines a practical negotiation framework that focuses on role scope, growth runway, and compensation. Luna shares a story about a finance director who negotiated a title that acknowledged her experience without stepping on her boss's toes. They also discuss when it's smart to walk away, and how to use the overqualification label as a signal of ambition rather than a liability. By the end, you'll have a clear playbook for turning what feels like a weakness into the exact reason you get the offer—and the terms you want. #Overqualified #Negotiation #Promotion #CareerGrowth #JobSearch #HiringManager #InterviewTips #SalaryNegotiation #CareerAdvice #CareerStrategy #WorkplaceDynamics #Leadership #Ambition #CareerLadder #JobOffer #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Careers Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How to Get Promoted by Solving Problems Your Boss Hasn't Named Yet
Aug 26, 202610 minS4
In this episode of Promotion Path with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna explore a promotion strategy that often flies under the radar: identifying and tackling the problems your boss hasn't even articulated yet. They anchor the discussion in a real-world scenario from a mid-sized software firm in Austin, where a product analyst named Priya noticed a silent churn pattern among enterprise clients. By quietly building a churn-prediction model using publicly available usage data, she not only saved three key accounts but also positioned herself as indispensable. Lucas and Luna break down how to spot these 'unarticulated problems'—by listening to customer complaints, reading between the lines in strategy meetings, and watching where your boss spends their frustrated time. They also share practical tips for getting started without overstepping, including the '10 percent rule' and how to frame your initiative as a low-risk experiment. If you've been looking for a promotion path that doesn't rely on self-promotion or office politics, this episode offers a concrete playbook for making your boss's job easier in ways they didn't know they needed. #UnarticulatedProblems #PromotionStrategy #CareerAdvancement #ProblemSolving #ProactiveWork #ChurnPrediction #CareerGrowth #BossRelationships #Initiative #DataAnalytics #BusinessImpact #CareerTips #ProfessionalDevelopment #WorkplaceStrategy #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Careers #PromotionPath Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
In episode 166 of Promotion Path, Lucas and Luna explore a counterintuitive career move: taking a promotion without a salary bump. When does a title-first promotion actually pay off? They dig into the mechanics of title inflation, the strategic value of a senior title in external recruiting, and how to structure a 'title now, money later' deal with your boss. Lucas brings the case of a product manager who took a VP title at the same pay and landed a 30 percent raise eighteen months later by switching companies. Luna shares a cautionary tale from the nonprofit world. They cover the red flags, the negotiation scripts, and the timing math—when a title upgrade compounds and when it's just a trap. If you've ever been offered a bigger title without a bigger check, this episode will help you decide whether to sign or walk. #PromotionWithoutRaise #TitleInflation #CareerStrategy #Negotiation #Compensation #CareerAdvice #PromotionPath #TitleVsSalary #CareerGrowth #WorkplaceDynamics #JobSearch #Career #Business #Careers #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Workplace #Leadership Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
How to Get Promoted by Owning Your Succession Plan
Aug 24, 202610 minS4
In this episode of Promotion Path with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna explore a counterintuitive promotion strategy: actively preparing your own successor. They discuss why managers who develop a replacement are often seen as more promotable, not less, and share a concrete framework called 'the two-deep bench.' Using examples from tech and finance, they explain how documenting your role, mentoring a deputy, and creating 'leader's leverage' can shift your reputation from indispensable to leadership-ready. They also tackle the fear of being replaced and how to frame succession planning as a sign of strategic maturity. If you're aiming for the next rung, this episode offers a fresh angle on building your case for promotion—by making yourself slightly less needed in your current role. #SuccessionPlanning #CareerAdvancement #PromotionStrategy #LeadershipDevelopment #Mentorship #TwoDeepBench #CareerGrowth #ExecutiveReadiness #WorkplaceStrategy #ManagerSkills #TalentDevelopment #OrganizationalImpact #Business #Careers #ProfessionalDevelopment #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #PromotionPath Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
In this episode of Promotion Path with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna explore how to convert a promotion into lasting leverage — not just a bigger title and a pay bump. They break down the two types of leverage (external marketability and internal influence) and walk through a concrete playbook: start the job search right after promotion, build a 'leverage file' of quantified wins, and schedule skip-level check-ins to cement your new seniority. Using the example of a mid-career marketer who parlayed a senior manager title into a director offer within nine months, they show why the first 90 days after promotion are the golden window. Lucas and Luna also touch on the common trap of resting on the title, and how to use the promotion as a springboard for bigger projects and a stronger network. Listeners will come away with an actionable plan to make their promotion work harder for them — whether they stay for two years or leave in six months. #PromotionLeverage #CareerStrategy #SalaryNegotiation #JobSearch #CareerAdvancement #LeadershipDevelopment #InternalInfluence #ExternalMarketability #CareerGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #WorkplaceSuccess #CareerPodcast #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Careers #PromotionPath #JobNegotiation #CareerMobility Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
