Property Confessions Ep 12 | Artwell and Doslyn were nervous about investing, but buying their first investment changed everything
Artwell was driving 42km each way to work. He got so tired he'd nod off at the traffic lights waiting for the honk behind him. That commute is what moved him and Doslyn from Sydney to Western Australia, and it set off everything that followed. They'd already come a long way to get there. Zimbabwe, then 14 years in England, then Sydney. Both built careers in health. Neither had invested before, and both were nervous about it. Like most people they knew, the advice they got was to buy a house and land package and wait twenty years. They didn't. They wanted equity from day one. In 2023 they bought a house in WA for $457,000, under market value. The bank valuation now sits at $819,000. They've since picked up a second one off market at $710,000. On current numbers, selling the investments in a few years could pay off their own home outright.
