A new sub genre emerged in the mid to late 1960's referred to as "Sunshine Pop" today. It was happy, light music with a pop sound. It was a juxtaposition to the heavier events like the Vietnam War, student protests and assassinations. This music took you away from all that and gave you a lighter sound. The Ballroom was a studio band led by Curt Boettcher with sweet harmonies. The Cowsills were a family band that inspired The Partridge Family TV Show. Also...
