It was a juxtaposition to the heavier events like the Vietnam War, student protests and assassinations. This music took you away from all that and gave you a lighter sound. The Ballroom was a studio band led by Curt Boettcher with sweet harmonies. The Cowsills were a family band that inspired The Partridge Family TV Show. Also...   In England in 1968, there was a lingering effect from the previous year's Summer of Love. Bands that finally got the opportunity to record their own songs, were still trying to catch up with Sgt. Pepper, The Beatles masterpiece. But Flower Power reached its end by 1968, and the public's interest shifted to harder sounding rock. But there were alot of great records that were released though they didn't get much regard. Today, those records are revered by collectors and command alot of money on eBay and Discogs. Also...
