2 October 2026 Navigating Divine Judgment and Grace in Joshua 6 Fabulous Friday
: Navigating Divine Judgment and Grace in Joshua 6 | The Scarlet Cord In this episode with Rocky Stevenson Pastor of Benoni Bible Church from our expository series through the Old Testament book of Joshua, we examine the concluding section of Joshua 6, exploring the sobering reality of divine judgment, the absolute holiness of God's justice, and the radiant grace of our ultimate rescue in Christ. Following the miraculous collapse of Jericho’s walls, we confront the total destruction of the city under the ban (cherem) and address common questions regarding God's wrath, human sin, and historical context. Amidst this terrifying judgment, we witness the remarkable preservation of Rahab and her household, who were safely rescued beneath the scarlet cord due to their faith in Yahweh. Drawing from key Scripture passages including Joshua | 6:21–27, Genesis | 15:16, and Joshua | 2:1–21, this message points us directly to the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Just as Jericho serves as a historical preview of final judgment, Rahab’s rescue highlights how believers are sheltered from the coming wrath through the blood of Christ. Whether you are studying biblical theology, looking for deep expositional preaching, or seeking assurance of salvation, this message calls us to flee from sin and take refuge in our Savior. Take a moment to listen, reflect on the holiness of God, and find your rest in His unmerited grace. • #Joshua6 • #DivineJudgment • #GodsHoliness • #RedemptiveHistory • #ScarletCord • #OldTheology • #ExpositoryPreaching • #BookOfJoshua • #SalvationInChrist • #BiblicalHermeneutics • #LegacyStandardBible • #ChristianPodcast
