Welcome to the Real Life Weight Loss Podcast where we cut through the confusion and get down to the truth - down to what really works for REAL people when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off. We're diving into the most doable, sustainable weight loss strategies. This podcast is all about busy moms, dads, husbands, wives who are working, raising kids, and trying to juggle everything life’s throwing at them … but also want to be the best they can for their family and friends and loved ones. I’m your host Corey Little, a nutritionist and weight loss specialist with 2 degrees, 3 certifications, and 20 years of experience. I've been a champion bodybuilder with 3% body-fat and I’ve also pigged out at all-you-can-eat buffets and have a deep love of food and enjoying life like crazy! So, I’m not some Nutrition Robot or extremist. I’m a real person just like you who loves the good things in life - friends, family, and all the delicious food that comes with it. So, make no mistake - this podcast is NOT about how to get six-pack abs or how to drop as much weight as possible in 8 weeks. There’s more to life than abs and there’s more to your body than how much you weigh. Honestly, weight loss is not really about losing weight … it’s about gaining life! Doing things you never thought you could. Having renewed confidence. And enjoying your body and your health more than ever. Week by week, I’ll provide bite-sized guidance - 15 to 20 minute episodes that pull back the curtain and reveal the truth about what it takes to lose weight and gain life - what strategy and approach real people are using to get results without giving up their day-to-day life. And here’s the really cool part … It’s really not as hard or confusing as you might think. Changing your body, getting crazy healthy, and demanding success from life is do-able for everyone - and it can be fun - and I’ll show you how.

Aug 18, 202638 min
Think you have a slow metabolism that's making weight loss nearly impossible? You may be misunderstanding what your metabolism actually is. “My RMR is 1,700 calories. The normal amount for someone my age and size is 3,000. I guess I just have to really watch all my calories.” That message from a listener inspired today's episode. Because there's a lot of confusion around metabolism—and that confusion can leave people feeling defeated before they even begin. In this episode, Corey breaks down what metabolism actually means, what RMR and BMR measure, and why that's not the same thing as the total number of calories your body burns in a normal day. We'll cover . . . What metabolism actually means What determines your resting metabolic rate How movement and exercise fit into the calorie equation How your body responds to calorie surpluses and deficits Why and how strength training plays into all of this When tracking calories and macros makes sense How to choose the approach that's best for you Anti-Diet Assessment: https://skilloversecret.com/

The Scale Controlled James’ Happiness Until He Escaped Yo-Yo Dieting and Learned Low Stress Weight Loss
Aug 4, 202643 min
For years, James felt trapped in the same cycle. He'd lose 20 pounds. Gain it back. Start another diet. Repeat. James spent years searching for the "right" diet. He tried . . . Atkins. South Beach. Calorie tracking. Intermittent fasting. Each one helped him lose weight. Each one eventually became too restrictive to maintain. And every time he regained the weight, he blamed himself. He began believing he lacked discipline… or that something was simply wrong with him. Then he discovered a completely different way to approach weight loss. Instead of chasing another diet, James learned how to build consistency, reduce the emotional power of the scale, and create habits that actually fit his life . In this conversation, James shares the mindset shifts that helped him stop starting over and finally experience both lasting weight loss and peace of mind. IN THIS EPISODE James' history with Atkins, South Beach, calorie tracking, and intermittent fasting Why every diet worked—but never lasted The emotional impact of repeatedly regaining weight How the scale became tied to his self-worth The danger of believing you're "different" Why consistency matters more than perfection Escaping the all-or-nothing mindset Building a sustainable lifestyle instead of chasing another diet Finding peace with food, the scale, and yourself Join Corey’s Email Newsletter: https://LoseFatList.com ANTI-DIET CLASS: https://AntiDietClass.com

Jul 28, 202646 min
" Food has been my hiding place and comfort for so long. " That simple sentence captures the heart of Karen's story.
