Episode #24
The Prize was Never Being Chosen: The Prize Was Always You!
Black girls, this episode is for you. Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught that being chosen was the prize whether in relationships, friendships, the workplace, or society. We learned to work twice as hard for half the recognition, to question our worth when we weren’t picked, and to celebrate the bare minimum because being seen felt rare. But what if the prize was never someone choosing you? What if the real prize has always been recognizing your own value and deciding who gets access to you? In this episode, we’re unpacking the ways Black women have been conditioned to chase validation, why that conditioning exists, and how to reclaim the confidence that was ours all along. This is your reminder that you don’t have to audition for love, respect, or acceptance. You were always worthy.
