Cancel The DEBT, Not The Person (Reyn Harpole)
What if someone paid a debt you could never afford to pay?In 2016, John Oliver and "Last Week Tonight" purchased $15 million of medical debt owed by 9,000 people—and then erased it. Thousands of people who woke up owing money suddenly owed nothing. That story gives us a picture of something even bigger: what Jesus has done for us.We carry debts in all kinds of ways—not just financially, but relationally, emotionally, and spiritually. We keep track of what people owe us. We cancel people. Sometimes we even become our own debt collectors. But Scripture says that through Jesus, our debt of sin has been canceled. It wasn't negotiated down. We didn't earn it. We didn't deserve it. It was paid in full. And because we've been forgiven, we're called to forgive others.Don't cancel the person. Cancel the DEBT. After all, that's what Jesus did for YOU :) #forgiveness #Jesus #Christianity #Christian #sermon #cancelculture #debt #grace #mercy #Colossians2 #Colossians3 #Romans5 #Jesuspaiditall #Christianyouthsermon #Christianmessage #RBYouth
