How Does Gurumahan Clear the Fears and Misconceptions About Kundalini Awakening? | குண்டலினி எழுச்சியைக் குறித்த பயத்தையும் தவறான புரிதல்களையும் குருமகான் எவ்வாறு தெளிவுபடுத்துகிறார்?
In the 25th velvi discourse during the fulfillment of the penance, Gurumahan speaks about his purpose after Self realization, give more clarity on fear and misconception about Kundalini Awakening, and what should a person do with the supreme Kundalini Shakthi! There are many secrets known to the Siddha Purushas, sages and yogis. Come and sit within this pyramid, the Pranavalayam. The moment you sit here and enter deep silence, you can reach the Null Point. In that silence, everything exists. Beyond the waking state, the dream state and the state of deep sleep, there exists a great power- a Supreme Power. Is that power present only within me? No. It exists within every one of us. It exists within everyone. By Divine Grace, I came to realise and use that power. But if I have realised it, should it benefit only me? The whole world should benefit from it. At the age of nineteen, my spiritual quest reached fulfilment. I attained the state I had been seeking. I experienced inner peace. I knew what had to be known, and I attained the supreme bliss that had to be attained. At that point, I felt: “I have attained what I came to attain. What further purpose does this physical body have for me?” But then another thought arose within me: “If all the sages attain supreme bliss, close their eyes and remain absorbed within themselves, who will remove the suffering and sorrow of millions of people?” That one thought became a challenge. And from that moment, it became the purpose of my life. Swami Vivekananda, whom I regard as my inner spiritual Guru, carried a great vision for humanity. And my Guru, Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan, who touched and enabled me to experience Jnana directly, gave this mission: “The day spirituality and politics unite, world peace will become possible.” So the question arose: How can humanity be united? How can world peace become a reality? One way was to take the wisdom of Kundalini to the people. But thirty years ago, even speaking about Kundalini was difficult. When I told people, “There is a power called Kundalini within you,” they would ask: “Where is it, Guru?” I would say:“It resides at the Mooladhara. When this power is awakened and rises to the crown, it can lead you towards Supreme Wisdom.” Immediately, some would respond: “If it is safely sitting in the Mooladhara, let it remain there! Why should we disturb it and bring it all the way up?” Others had even greater fears: “We have heard stories about Swami Vivekananda. They say that when his Kundalini reached the crown, his skull opened and he died. We don't want anything like that. We are happy as we are!” That was the level of fear and misunderstanding surrounding Kundalini at the time. I myself wondered how I could explain such a subject to people in a way they could understand. It took years of effort. Through Yoga, the body first had to be prepared and transformed. Gradually, people had to be helped to understand: “There is an extraordinary power within you. You must awaken to it and attain the higher state for which it exists.” But then another misunderstanding appeared. After receiving Kundalini initiation, some people would return within a month and say: “Guru, I haven't received anything.” I would ask: “What exactly were you expecting to receive?” They would reply:“That person used to ride a bicycle. After receiving initiation, he bought a motorcycle. But I am still riding my bicycle. I haven't even received a bike!” Then I had to tell them: “My dear, do not use this immense spiritual power merely to obtain a bike or a car. What you have received is something infinite. Do not reduce it to trivial desires.” Attain what you are truly meant to attain. When you move steadily towards the highest goal, whatever is genuinely necessary for your journey will come to you naturally. Do not stop with small desires and small achievements. Create a great aspiration within yourself. And what should that aspiration be? To attain the Supreme State. That is why, beside the Pranavalayam, we have a smaller Pyramid, where I ask you also to sit in Tapas. Yet, when I observe those performing Tapas, I still see desires within their prayers. How many sit there and ask for the highest state? How many can say:“Guru, let me realise who I truly am. Let me attain the Supreme State. And once I have realised myself, let every action of my life be dedicated to the welfare of this world.” That is the higher purpose of spiritual awakening. The power within you is not merely for fulfilling small personal desires. Realise the Self, attain the highest state, and then allow that realization to become a force for the welfare of the world.
