THE SIGN OF THE COVENANT
Famous people usually spend money on things that the rest of us would spend money on if we could. One of the luxuries rich people get is the ability to have their own image "doctored." Online reputation repair and image creation (to say nothing of makeup artists, dietitians, personal trainers, and image consultants) are a thriving industry. Why? Because we don't want people to see us for who we really are. We want to hide our weaknesses and our imperfections from the world. We firmly believe (and usually rightly) that if people saw who we really are, they wouldn't love us. But what about God? He sees us, right? What does he think about us? Coming fresh off flooding the world for being sinful, this painful truth becomes apparent: along with his family, Noah brought his sin in to the ark. It's in his heart -- it's a part of him. So how will God look at him? How does God interact with sinners this side of the ark? In other words, what does God really want to do with the real me? That's the question Julian Freeman will address as we dig into Genesis 9:1-17 . Please pray that God would do deep and meaningful work in our hearts, which are truly in need of his grace.
