Lucas and Luna sit in a consultancy lobby, portfolios open, and do what most business shows avoid: they talk about the actual mechanics of running a professional services firm. From hourly billing vs. value pricing to the economics of partner tracks, from agency retainer structures to the hidden costs of 'scope creep' in consulting engagements. Each episode picks one real firm — a boutique strategy shop, a mid-sized PR agency, a solo CPA practice — and uses its public financials, client roster, or growth trajectory to illustrate a specific operational or strategic lesson. Lucas leads with journalistic rigor, citing profit margins, utilization rates, and churn data. Luna pushes back with the practitioner's view: what works on the ground when the client is in the room. The listener is assumed to be running or working inside a services business — or seriously considering starting one. No founder hagiography, no '5 tips to scale.' Just two sharp minds dissecting the numbers and decisions t

How Consulting Firms Are Buying Their Own AI Talent
Aug 18, 202610 minS4
Consulting firms are no longer just advising on AI — they're acquiring the talent and technology outright. In this episode, Lucas and Luna look at the rising wave of acquisitions of AI startups and boutique data science shops by the big consulting houses. They break down the logic, the numbers, and the risks, using real examples like a mid-size analytics firm bought for its team rather than its product. They also touch on how this changes the nature of consulting work — from advising to building — and what it means for clients and competitors alike. If you've ever wondered why a consulting firm would rather buy an AI lab than rent one, this episode gives you the answer. #Consulting #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #TalentAcquisition #ProfessionalServices #BusinessStrategy #MergersAndAcquisitions #BigFour #DataScience #MachineLearning #TalentWar #ConsultingFirms #Business #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #ServiceBusiness #TechTalent #Innovation Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

Aug 17, 20269 minS4

If you've ever wondered why your consulting partner seems more interested in your data than your strategy, this one's for you. #ConsultingFirms #DataCenters #CloudInfrastructure #Accenture #Deloitte #VerticalIntegration #AIConsulting #BusinessStrategy #TechInfrastructure #CapitalExpenditure #DigitalTransformation #ITServices #Business #Podcast #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #ProfessionalServices #TechTrends Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Why Consulting Firms Are Buying Their Own Data Brokers
Aug 16, 20268 minS4
In this episode of Service Business Talks, Lucas and Luna dive into a surprising new trend: consulting firms are acquiring data brokers. They explore a specific case—a mid-tier consultancy buying a niche data broker for $120 million—and unpack the strategic logic behind the move. Why would a firm that sells advice want to own raw data assets? Lucas breaks down the economics, from recurring revenue streams to the synergy with AI-driven advisory work. Luna challenges the ethical implications, raising questions about client privacy and the shifting boundaries of consulting. Together, they examine how this acquisition reshapes competitive dynamics, the risks of regulatory pushback, and what it means for smaller firms. If you're in professional services, this episode offers a clear-eyed look at a consolidation wave that's quietly redefining the industry. Tune in for a focused, concrete analysis of one deal and its ripple effects. #ConsultingFirms #DataBrokers #MergersAndAcquisitions #ProfessionalServices #DataStrategy #AdvisoryBusiness #BusinessStrategy #DataEconomy #LucasAndLuna #ServiceBusinessTalks #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #ConsultingIndustry #DataAcquisition #AIandConsulting #ClientData #RegulatoryRisk #ConsolidationWave Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

Why Consulting Firms Are Buying Their Own Credit Unions
Aug 14, 202610 minS4
In this episode of Service Business Talks with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna examine why major consulting firms are acquiring or partnering with credit unions. They trace the trend back to the 2023 banking liquidity scare, which pushed firms to secure stable, low-cost funding for their own operations and for client projects. Using the example of a fictional mid-sized consultancy that opened a captive credit union, they explain the mechanics—how member deposits provide a cheaper capital base than commercial lines of credit—and the risks, including regulatory scrutiny and reputational backlash from small banks. The hosts also explore how this strategy lets firms offer financing to their clients, effectively turning credit into a service differentiator. They discuss the trade-offs: the need for compliance expertise, the potential conflict of interest, and the cultural clash between consulting and banking. The episode closes with a practical takeaway for firm leaders considering a captive credit union: start with a pilot program and bring in a seasoned banker early. Tune in for a data-driven look at a quiet but significant shift in professional services. #ConsultingFirms #CreditUnions #BankingTrends #BusinessStrategy #FinancialServices #ProfessionalServices #CaptiveFinance #RegulatoryCompliance #ConsultingIndustry #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #ServiceBusinessTalks #LucasAndLuna #BankingLiquidity #ClientFinancing #SmallBusinessLending #NCUA #AlternativeBanking Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Every question we get asked before someone starts their trial.
If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.

Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
