Are Roster Concerns Being Ignored!
The Minnesota Vikings quarterback situation is finally settled. Kyler Murray is the team's starting quarterback, and now that the QB competition with J.J. McCarthy is over, it's time to have a much bigger conversation about this roster. Did we spend so much time talking about the quarterback position that we completely glossed over other important positional needs? That's the question I'm asking in this video. One of the biggest concerns right now is the center position. Reports coming out of Minnesota Vikings training camp have raised concerns about Blake Brandel's transition to starting center, including issues with shotgun snaps. Some people may look at that as a minor training camp problem, but the center position is critical to the success of the offense. If the Vikings can't consistently get the football to their quarterback, that's something that needs to be taken seriously. And Blake Brandel isn't the only concern. The Vikings have gone through major changes this offseason, including changes to the front office, coaching staff and player personnel. We've spent so much time discussing Kyler Murray, J.J. McCarthy and the quarterback competition that I believe we've overlooked some of the other areas on this roster that could become major problems during the season. The center position needs to be discussed. The Vikings also need to take a serious look at their rotational edge rusher depth and overall roster depth. The question isn't simply whether Minnesota has talented players — it's whether they have enough depth and stability at the right positions to compete throughout an NFL season. Now that the quarterback situation is settled, what else needs to be addressed? Are the Minnesota Vikings ignoring legitimate roster concerns? Should they be looking for another option at center? Is Blake Brandel really the answer at center? Do the Vikings need more help along the offensive line? Is rotational edge rusher a bigger need than we've been talking about? And did Minnesota do enough this offseason to build a roster capable of competing in 2026? Let's have the tough conversation. This is a full Minnesota Vikings roster discussion covering Blake Brandel, the center position, the offensive line, edge rusher depth, Kyler Murray, J.J. McCarthy and the bigger concerns surrounding this team heading into the 2026 NFL season.
