Manchester United 26/27 Season Preview | Bet MUFC (EP. 240)
Manchester United should be aiming for a Premier League title challenge after a hugely encouraging third-place finish in 2025-26. Michael Carrick galvanised a confidence-stricken squad after replacing Ruben Amorim in January, delivering 12 wins from 17 games and 39 points, more than any other side in the same time period. The INEOS-led ownership group subsequently handed Carrick a permanent two-year contract that includes the option for an extra year, which was fully deserved. However, they have not yet given the beloved former United midfielder the full backing he needs in the transfer market. As a result, it feels very unlikely that the Premier League trophy will finally heading back to Old Trafford next May. Carrick is still the picture of composure on the surface, but he will be acutely aware that the Red Devils could be in for yet another frustrating season.
