Don't put new wine into the old wineskin
This sermon reflects on Christ’s words, “No one puts new wine into old wineskins,” and challenges us to consider whether we truly want transformation or simply improvement. Through the calling of Levi, we see that repentance means more than feeling sorry for our sins—it means leaving behind the old, rising, and following Christ. We often ask God for peace, healing, a stronger prayer life, or freedom from sin while still holding onto old habits, pride, resentment, wounds, and ways of thinking. But Christ does not come simply to fit into the life we already have; He comes to make us new. The sermon invites us to identify the “old wineskins” we are still carrying and to allow Christ to reshape our hearts, restore our true identity in Him, and transform our lives so that our own transformation can also lead others closer to Christ.
