Stock Picking with Fexingo is the daily show where Lucas and Luna argue the specific merits of individual equities in real time, using only publicly-available filings, earnings transcripts, and market data. Each episode focuses on a single stock—from mega-cap tech to obscure small-caps—and constructs a concentrated portfolio thesis. Lucas leads with fundamental analysis, tracing through cash flow statements and competitive moats with a fountain pen's precision, while Luna challenges assumptions about valuation, management quality, and sector tailwinds. They dissect the numbers: revenue growth rates, operating margins, debt profiles, and insider ownership. The listener is an investor who manages their own portfolio, reads 10-Ks for fun, and wants to hear two skeptics debate whether a stock deserves a place in a concentrated bet. No hot takes, no market timing—just the slow, patient work of building conviction. By the end of each episode, you'll know whether Lucas and Luna believe this s

Why Duolingo's Stock Is a Language Lesson in Market Mood
Aug 18, 20268 minS4
In Episode 163, Lucas and Luna dig into Duolingo's recent stock surge and what it reveals about how retail investors are pricing growth in late 2026. With the S&P 500 pulling back 0.6 percent over five days and big tech like Meta sliding 4.8 percent, Duolingo's resilience stands out. Lucas breaks down the company's shift toward AI-driven personalization and its expanding user base, while Luna questions whether the valuation can hold when the broader market is wobbling. They also touch on Tesla's 3.6 percent gain and Pfizer's 3.5 percent bump as signs of a rotation into beaten-down names. The conversation turns to what stock pickers can learn from Duolingo's playbook: focusing on engagement metrics over short-term noise, and how consumer tech companies are becoming more resilient to economic cycles. A concise, practical look at one stock's story and the market mood behind it. #Duolingo #StockPicking #LanguageLearning #AI #EdTech #ConsumerTech #EquityResearch #MarketRotation #RetailInvestors #GrowthStocks #Valuation #TechStocks #S&P500 #Tesla #Pfizer #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Finance Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Stock buybacks are everywhere, but most investors miss a crucial detail: not all repurchases are created equal. In this episode, Lucas and Luna break down the difference between buybacks that build long-term value and those that just prop up earnings per share. They use recent data — including a notable drop in Microsoft's stock and a surge in NVIDIA's — to show how to read the real signal behind a company's capital return program. The hosts explain what to look for in a buyback announcement, from management's incentive structure to whether the repurchase is accretive or just cosmetic. If you've ever wondered whether buybacks are a good sign or a warning flag, this episode gives you a practical framework for your next investment decision. #StockBuybacks #CapitalReturn #EPS #Microsoft #NVIDIA #ShareRepurchase #InvestingStrategy #StockPicking #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Finance #EquityResearch #ValueInvesting #ConcentratedPortfolio #EarningsQuality #ManagementIncentives #FinancialAnalysis #CorporateFinance Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Why Betting Markets Are the New Stock Picker Frontier
Aug 16, 202610 minS4
In this episode, Lucas and Luna dig into the surge of prediction markets and what they signal for stock pickers in August 2026. They break down how the rise of platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket has caught regulators' attention, and why the S&P 500 at 7,786 with a 0.4% gain this week masks a broader rotation into small caps and value. Using Berkshire's recent Alphabet bet as a case study, they explore how event-driven trading is blurring the line between sports betting and investing. Plus, Lucas shares a framework for reading prediction-market odds as a leading indicator for earnings and macro events. If you've ever wondered whether the wisdom of crowds can improve your stock research, this episode offers a practical starting point. #PredictionMarkets #StockPicking #Kalshi #Polymarket #BerkshireHathaway #Alphabet #S&P500 #SmallCaps #ValueInvesting #EventDriven #MarketRegulation #InvestingStrategy #Finance #Business #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #StockAnalysis #MarketSignals Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Why Berkshire’s Alphabet Bet Flips the Stock Picking Playbook
Aug 15, 20267 minS4
In this episode of Stock Picking with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna break down Berkshire Hathaway’s decision to boost Alphabet to a top three holding. With the S&P 500 hovering near 7,800 and the Dow slipping, they discuss what this shift means for concentrated portfolio builders. They explore why a classic value investor might embrace a mega-cap tech stock, how it contrasts with Berkshire’s traditional energy and financial holdings, and whether this signals a broader rotation. They also touch on Chevron’s recent strength and the ongoing underperformance of Amazon, using these moves to illustrate how to read institutional filings for individual stock ideas. The episode closes with practical takeaways for listeners building their own portfolios: the importance of conviction, the role of scale in stock selection, and how to avoid overreacting to short-term price swings. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, data-driven perspective on stock picking, this episode delivers one concrete insight you can use today. #BerkshireHathaway #Alphabet #StockPicking #ConcentratedPortfolio #ValueInvesting #MegaCapTech #InstitutionalInvesting #PortfolioConstruction #Finance #Investing #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #StockAnalysis #EquityResearch #WarrenBuffett #TechStocks #MarketRotation #Chevron Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Netflix has won the streaming wars, but the real story is how it stays ahead. In this episode, Lucas and Luna break down the numbers behind Netflix's latest quarter—over 300 million subscribers, record margins, and a free cash flow engine that funds everything from live sports to gaming. They explore the advertising tier's surprising growth, the password-sharing crackdown that turned churn into revenue, and why Netflix's content flywheel makes it nearly impossible for rivals to catch up. With Bill Ackman jumping back in, they ask: is Netflix a growth stock or a compounder? And what does its success mean for the rest of the media landscape? A sharp, grounded conversation for anyone who wants to understand the economics of attention in 2026. #Netflix #StreamingWars #BillAckman #StockPicking #MediaStocks #FreeCashFlow #SubscriberGrowth #AdvertisingTier #ContentStrategy #LiveSports #Gaming #Compounder #GrowthStock #Investing #Finance #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #EquityResearch Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
