After high school, he enlisted as a Navy Corpsman and deployed as a combat medic with the U.S. Marines, serving in Kuwait and Iraq from 2002–2003. He attended Mays Business School at Texas A&M on the prestigious Pat Tillman Foundation Scholarship, earning a BBA in 2011. He later completed a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies at Grace School of Theology. Terry is a published author of five books and the founder of VEL Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. He is the award-winning lead actor in the television series Breaking Strongholds , with additional acting and writing credits across television and film. In 2025, Terry wrote, produced, and directed his debut feature film, The Beast of Trinity Texas , now streaming on Amazon, Tubi, and Apple TV. He is happily married with four children.
