Dan explains that devices connected to an access point do not all communicate at the same time. Each device must wait for an opportunity to transmit and receive data, meaning performance can decrease as more users and devices join the same access point or channel.The discussion introduces several important Wi-Fi testing measurements, including device count, channel maps, channel overlap, and channel utilization. Multiple access points and networks may operate on the same channel, forcing every connected device to share the same section of radio spectrum. When utilization becomes too high, users may begin to experience slower speeds and reduced network performance.Dan also explains the differences between the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and newer 6GHz frequency bands.
