Máirín Ní Chéileachair is the Director of Education, Equality, Research and Learning at the INTO. She explains the reasons behind the industrial action and exactly how we got to where we are today. She explains what Stage 1 involves, beginning on 5th October, and what activities it does and does not include. As well as the cost of living crisis facing Irish teachers, we discuss the difficulties facing education today, including infrastructure problems, class sizes, and rising needs within schools.
