#43 - Why You Can't Rest
You can finish work, sit on the couch, go on holiday or spend the weekend doing very little and still never really rest. For years, I thought I simply struggled to switch off. What I eventually realised was that my entire system had learned not to. In this episode, I explore what can sit underneath our need to keep moving, thinking, planning and achieving and why slowing down can sometimes feel more uncomfortable than being busy. Because for some of us, achievement hasn't just been something we've done. It's been how we've learned to feel safe. And when the movement stops, we finally meet what it may have been protecting us from. This isn't an episode about becoming less ambitious. It's about discovering whether you can still be ambitious without needing constant movement to feel okay. If you've ever wondered why you can technically be resting while something inside you is still going, this episode might help you understand yourself differently
