AI Transparency, Governance and the EU AI Act
Aug 18, 202620 min
What happens when you write an article about AI transparency, disclose that AI helped you create it… and it gets rejected because you used AI? In this episode of The Bumper Blueprint Podcast , Jovana Vujnic looks at the new transparency obligations under Article 50 of the EU AI Act and what they signal for businesses in Australia and beyond. As AI moves beyond drafting content and starts talking to customers, accessing business data and taking actions on our behalf, the question is no longer “What can AI do?” It’s “What should we let AI do?” Jovana explores what businesses should be asking now: Where is AI being used? Do customers know when they’re interacting with it? What data can it access? Who reviews AI-generated content? What can AI do without human approval? And ultimately, who is accountable? She also shares the story of an article she submitted to a major publication about AI transparency. Despite disclosing that AI had assisted with the research and drafting — with human review, fact-checking and editorial responsibility — the article was rejected because of its AI involvement. It raises a bigger governance question: Do blanket AI bans encourage responsible AI use, or simply discourage people from being transparent about it? The episode also covers AI-generated content and provenance, including machine-readable marking, Claude’s imperceptible text watermarks and Google’s SynthID, as well as the direction Australia is heading through privacy reform, consumer expectations and growing scrutiny of AI. Finally, Jovana shares a practical framework for thinking about AI governance based on levels of autonomy — from AI assisting and recommending, through to AI acting with approval or operating autonomously. The AI Questions Every Business Owner Should Be Asking
Aug 5, 202612 min
Almost every business owner is asking the same question right now: "How do I actually use AI in my business?" But after reading a list of the questions keeping CEOs at some of the world's largest organisations awake at night, Jovana Vujnic realised something surprising. They're asking exactly the same questions as growing businesses. The budgets may be different. The teams may be larger. But the challenges are remarkably similar. In this episode of The Bumper Blueprint Podcast , Jovana explores the six questions every business owner should be asking before investing in another AI tool. Because the problem usually isn't choosing between ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. The real challenge is knowing where AI fits into your business in the first place. You'll discover: Why AI should start with business strategy—not software How to identify the biggest opportunities for AI inside your business Why disconnected systems limit the value of AI The importance of connecting customer data before introducing automation Why every business needs someone to own AI implementation How to measure success beyond simply "using AI" Jovana also shares real examples from Bumper Leads clients, including how redesigning workflows created the foundation for a custom CRM, and why helping businesses like one of the examples shared, connect fragmented systems unlocked far greater value than adding another tool. One of the biggest takeaways? The businesses succeeding with AI aren't necessarily using more technology. They're asking better questions. Questions like: Where is our biggest source of friction? What repetitive work is slowing our team down? Where are customers experiencing unnecessary delays? What would happen if our most experienced employee left tomorrow? Who owns AI in our business? What kind of business are we trying to build? If you've been feeling overwhelmed by AI, you're not alone. The goal isn't to become an AI company. The goal is to build a better business with AI supporting your strategy, not replacing it. Ready to move beyond experimenting with AI and start implementing it with purpose? Book a strategy session at bumperleads.com and let's identify where AI can create the greatest impact across your customer journey, systems, and operations. Why 90% of SMBs Use AI But Most Still Aren't Seeing Results
Jun 18, 202611 min
AI adoption is booming. Nearly 90% of small and medium-sized businesses are already using at least one AI tool. Yet despite all that activity, fewer than one in five businesses have successfully integrated AI across their operations. So what's going wrong? In this episode of The Bumper Blueprint Podcast , Jovana Vujnic unpacks the growing gap between AI adoption and AI results. Drawing on recent research and real conversations with business owners, she explores why so many companies are experimenting with AI but still struggling to see meaningful business outcomes. The problem isn't usually the technology. It's the lack of strategy behind it. You'll learn: Why widespread AI adoption isn't translating into business results The biggest mistakes SMBs make when implementing AI Why tool overload is creating more confusion than clarity How to identify whether AI is solving a real business problem Why AI won't fix broken systems, processes, or customer journeys The importance of ownership, measurement, and implementation How to evaluate whether your business is truly AI-ready Jovana also walks listeners through a practical self-audit, including questions every business owner should ask before investing in another AI tool: What problem are we actually trying to solve? Where is our team losing time each week? Are we paying for tools we don't fully use? Can we measure success? Are we automating something that already doesn't work? Who owns AI implementation inside the business? The key takeaway: Most businesses don't need more AI tools. They need a clearer strategy. Because the businesses seeing real results aren't necessarily using more technology. They're using it more intentionally, with a clear understanding of their customer journey, workflows, bottlenecks, and growth goals. If you've experimented with AI but aren't seeing the impact you expected, you're not alone. And the answer may not be another subscription. It may be a better plan. 👉 Want an outside perspective on where AI fits into your business?
