33 - Roger: A Pancreatic Cancer Survivor Story
Host Rayshawnda Madison connects with Roger, a returning guest who first shared his story in 2023 after receiving a Cancer Signal Detected result from the Galleri multi-cancer early detection (MCED) test. Follow-up testing led to a stage II pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Now, three years later, Roger reflects on how life has evolved since completing treatment, what survivorship looks like for him today, and the mindset that helped him move forward. He also shares how the experience changed his relationship with health, why he remains vigilant, and what motivates him to continue raising awareness about MCED testing. The overall sensitivity in study participants with pancreas cancer was 83.7%. (61.9% for stage I, 60.0% stage II, 85.7% stage III, 95.9% stage IV). The Galleri test does not detect a signal for all cancers. Not all cancers can be detected in the blood. False positive and false negative results do occur. Galleri is a screening test and does not diagnose cancer. Diagnostic testing is needed to confirm cancer. The Galleri test should be used in addition to healthcare provider recommended screening tests.
