#292 - R.I.P. MAGA
Another Sacrilegious Sunday, and this one goes places. We start with the deteriorating conditions aboard the USS *Abraham Lincoln*, Navy logistics, military leadership, the conflict with Iran, and what happens when the people making life-and-death decisions aren't held to anything resembling the standards imposed on the people actually doing the work. That leads directly into Homeboy's presidential platform: security clearances for federal candidates, age and term limits, health and competency standards, an independent Department of Justice, and the radical idea that maybe the people running the government should actually be qualified to run the government. Then we leave seriousness behind. Jonah Hill claims his Brazilian jiu-jitsu training means he can annihilate people, which launches an argument over BJJ, street fighting, private training, belt ranks, combat experience, and whether knowing how to fight matters more than simply being willing to fight. From there, Chino gets vindicated by the Kinsey scale, and we disappear into the sexuality rabbit hole: bisexual dating, why some straight women don't want bisexual men, why some gay and lesbian people don't want bisexual partners either, monogamy, attraction, masculinity, and whether intersectionality actually survives when the interests of different groups collide. That somehow evolves into trans women, womanhood, LGBTQ divisions, ladyboys, sexual identity, government classifications, and the increasingly impossible task of figuring out exactly where everybody thinks the line between straight and gay is. Then Bumble manages to undermine the entire reason Bumble existed, launching another argument about modern dating, women making the first move, rejection, effort, expectations, and why dating apps seem determined to make everybody miserable. Later, we discuss Hugh Hefner reportedly contacting the FBI about Jeffrey Epstein before getting into the EDP445 documentary, predator stings, what the available evidence actually shows, and the difference between condemning predatory behavior and examining how these online sting operations work. Finally, things get serious again with a discussion about men's mental health, grief, vulnerability, the backlash men can receive for publicly showing emotion, and why telling men to open up doesn't mean much if they're immediately mocked when they do.
