Ep. 15 Too Much: The Courage to be Intense
Too Much: The Courage to Be Intense What if being called too much isn't a flaw? In this episode we explore the relationship between intensity, courage and creativity, asking whether the discomfort we experience is actually a sign that we're growing rather than something we need to fix. We talk about what it means to be fully engaged with yourself and the world around you, why courage often feels like fear, and how learning to tolerate discomfort is part of becoming who you're meant to be. Along the way we wrestle with emotional resilience, finding people who can meet you in your depth, knowing when to challenge and when to rest, and the wisdom of recognising that not everyone has the same capacity for intensity. As creatives, we also explore how making meaningful work requires a willingness to expose yourself to criticism, grief and misunderstanding. Perhaps the goal isn't becoming less intense, but becoming more intentional—learning to carry your intensity with wisdom, responsibility and gentleness, without abandoning who you are. If you've ever felt like you needed to make yourself smaller to belong, or you've wondered whether you're simply "too much", we hope this conversation reminds you that maybe the answer isn't to shrink. Maybe the courage is in becoming more fully yourself.
