It is for the believer who has prayed, given, served, and still asked in the quiet of the night, Is this all God wants for me? I want you to hear my answer before you read another page: no. God is not the author of your lack. He did not create you to survive from one crisis to the next, and He did not redeem you through Jesus Christ so that the curse could remain settled over your home, your work, your children, or your future. The curse was never the plan. But this is not a book of easy promises or formulas. I will not tell you that a single offering, a confession, or a line of prayer will solve every problem in your life by Friday. The Bible is stronger and kinder than that. It shows us a God who blesses His people with purpose, teaches them to walk in wisdom, and raises them up so that the world can see His goodness through their lives. This is also not a book written to shame you. If you have struggled with lack, you are not a failure. You may have been taught things that were not true. You may have inherited ways of thinking that were never examined. You may simply be in a hard season in a broken world. Wherever you are beginning, God can meet you there. For more than two decades, I have pastored people in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, one of the poorest regions in the United States. I have seen hardworking people carry poverty not only in their pockets, but in their expectations. I have also watched God raise up families, business owners, and givers when they learned who they were in Christ and began to live by faith. Some of the people and situations described in this book are composites, created from experiences and patterns I have encountered throughout those years of pastoral ministry. They are included to illustrate spiritual truths, not to portray specific individuals. The goal of this book is not to make you rich for your own sake. It is to help you become free enough, wise enough, faithful enough, and whole enough for the blessing of God to rest on you and flow through you. The gospel must be preached. Families must be helped. Churches must be strengthened. Children must be fed. Nations must hear the name of Jesus. The time is short. We do not have time to remain trapped in an agreement Jesus died to break. Let the Holy Spirit show you where lack has found an entrance, then follow Him into freedom one obedient step at a time. The blessing of Abraham was never meant to stop with you.
