Every workplace has that boss — the one who micromanages, the one who takes credit, the one who makes you dread Mondays. On The Difficult Boss Podcast with Fexingo, Lucas and Luna dissect real-world cases of toxic management and teach you how to survive and even thrive under them. Drawing on anonymized stories from Fortune 500 employees, HR whistleblowers, and organizational psychology studies, they map the tactics of difficult bosses: gaslighting, credit theft, impossible deadlines, favoritism, and the silent treatment. Lucas, a business journalist, brings the data — turnover rates linked to abusive supervision, cost of disengagement, legal precedents around hostile work environments. Luna, an engaged interlocutor, brings the human side — how to set boundaries without getting fired, when to escalate, and how to manage up without losing yourself. Together, they test strategies like the 'grey rock method', structured documentation, and strategic ally-building. Each episode opens with a

How to Get Your Boss to Change Their Mind
Aug 29, 202610 minS4
In this episode of The Difficult Boss Podcast, Lucas and Luna tackle a tricky but essential skill: changing your boss's mind. When you're convinced your approach is right and your boss is set on a different path, how do you turn the tide without damaging the relationship? Lucas breaks down a three-step framework built on timing, evidence, and framing, and walks through a real-world case from a logistics company where a mid-level analyst managed to reverse a major software decision. Luna brings in the psychology of loss aversion and why bosses often stick with bad plans for fear of losing face. You'll learn practical tactics like prepping your evidence in the boss's language, using the 'yes-and' technique, and knowing when to make the case privately versus in a meeting. If you've ever left a conversation thinking 'that was the wrong call,' this episode gives you a playbook for flipping it—without the office drama. #ManagingUp #Boss #WorkplaceSurvival #CareerAdvice #Influence #Leadership #CommunicationSkills #OfficePolitics #WorkplacePsychology #DecisionMaking #ConflictResolution #ProfessionalDevelopment #Careers #Business #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #DifficultBoss #ChangeTheirMind Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
When every tiny slip becomes a crisis meeting, you stop flagging issues early — and that makes things worse. In episode 173 of The Difficult Boss Podcast, Lucas and Luna talk about how to work with a boss who overreacts to small mistakes. They break down the psychology of the overreactor, why the common advice to 'just be transparent' backfires, and a three-step framework for delivering bad news that keeps the focus on fixing the problem rather than assigning blame. You'll hear a concrete example from a call-center QA environment and a doctor's office, plus the right way to use 'positive framing' without sounding like a sycophant. If your boss turns a typo into a five-act drama, this episode gives you a script for the next time you have to walk into that room. #DifficultBoss #ManagingUp #WorkplaceSurvival #OverreactingBoss #CareerAdvice #BadNews #Feedback #Mistakes #WorkplacePsychology #CommunicationSkills #Leadership #Careers #Business #WorkplaceCulture #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Podcast #CareerGrowth Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
Lucas and Luna tackle a tricky workplace dynamic: the boss who agrees to everything, overcommits the team, and then scrambles when deadlines slip. In Episode 172 of The Difficult Boss Podcast, they unpack why 'yes' can be more damaging than an outright 'no,' and how to reframe pushback as prioritisation. They break down a real scenario from a mid-sized SaaS firm where a sales leader kept piling on client requests, and the engineering manager finally turned the conversation from 'we can't' to 'here's what we can do if we drop something else.' Expect concrete tactics: using the phrase 'I want to say yes, here's what I need,' building a visible trade-off list, and scheduling a weekly triage meeting to make cost-of-everything explicit. If you've ever felt steamrolled by an agreeable boss, this episode gives you a script to protect your team's focus without starting a fight. #AlwaysSayingYes #BossOvercommits #ManagingUp #WorkplaceSurvival #DifficultBoss #CareerAdvice #WorkplaceDynamics #BoundariesAtWork #TeamFocus #Prioritization #ToxicBoss #Leadership #CareerPodcast #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #Fexingo #Careers #ManagingUpTips Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
If your boss routinely presents your ideas as their own, you know how frustrating it can be. In this episode, Lucas and Luna dig into a real case: a mid-level product manager at a consumer-goods company who watched her boss take credit for a plan that saved the division two million dollars. They break down why bosses do this, how to document your contributions without becoming paranoid, and the art of making your work visible to people above your boss's pay grade. You'll learn practical tactics like the meeting recap email, the pre-meeting paper trail, and the strategic use of 'how did you come to that conclusion?' questions. No corporate hot air, just honest advice on navigating a tricky dynamic while protecting your career. #Boss #Credit #Career #WorkplaceSurvival #ManagingUp #OfficePolitics #ProductManager #ConsumerGoods #ToxicBoss #WorkplaceAdvice #CareerGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #Leadership #EmployeeRights #OfficeHumor #FexingoBusiness #BusinessPodcast #CareerPodcast Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
