EP 29: Spirituality, Psychics & Coming Home to Yourself with Brittany Bento
Aug 18, 202649 min
I sat down with my beautiful soul sister Brittany - reader, psychic, medium and one of the most grounded, genuine humans I know - for one of those conversations that just flows. We talked for 45 minutes and it felt like five. Brittany has been tapped into the spiritual world since she was a little girl - seeing spirits by her bed at three years old, being terrified by shadow figures in a Montreal house at nine, and eventually finding her way into mediumship development that helped her make sense of everything she'd been experiencing her whole life. But this episode isn't just about the woo. It's about what spirituality actually is - and what it isn't. We talk about why true spirituality is embodiment and being human, not escaping the human experience. Why so many people use spirituality as another form of dissociation. Why you should never outsource your power to a reader - or to plant medicine. And why the most rebellious, courageous, spiritual thing you can do is simply be yourself in a world that constantly tells you to be something else. We also get into authenticity and content creation, how self-reflection is the foundation of knowing yourself, why your ego isn't just arrogance - it's every safe decision you ever made that wasn't actually yours, and why if you found yourself listening to this episode, that's probably not an accident. Connect with Brittany on IG here!
Most people want to feel more confident in themselves. To trust their own decisions. To actually follow through on the things they say they're going to do. But wanting it and having it are two very different things. This episode is about how I built it. And it didn't happen the way you might think. I share my own journey with this - how I went from someone who would fall off the bandwagon over and over again, to someone who's now weeks into a strict health detox protocol eating nothing but vegetables, meat and eggs and not thinking twice about it. And how that didn't happen overnight. It happened brick by brick, through years of micro moments where I chose to lean into the uncomfortable thing anyway. I talk about why self-trust isn't built overnight, how a devotional morning practice is actually one of the most powerful ways to start building it, why stepping outside your comfort zone is non-negotiable, how talking to yourself through difficult moments builds more confidence than almost anything else, and how sitting with ayahuasca in Costa Rica gave me the evidence I needed to walk away from a two and a half year situationship and never look back. I also share details about the Lighter Life Challenge - a six week self-discovery program I've created for the people who know something needs to change but aren't sure where to start. It's the first step. And if you've been listening to this thinking - yeah, that's me - it might just be for you. Self-trust is a muscle. And this episode is about how to start building it.
EP 27: A Solo Episode on Self-intimacy, Self-worth & Showing Up For Yourself
Aug 4, 202636 min
This episode is about the most important relationship you'll ever have. Not with a partner, not with your family, not with your friends. With yourself. I start by asking a question that I'd love for you to sit with - how intimate is your relationship with you? Because most of us have never really thought about it. We were never taught to. We grew up watching how the adults around us treated themselves, absorbed it without even realising, and built our entire relationship with ourselves from that unconscious foundation. I share what I used to do when I was having a hard time - comfort eating, partying, posting bikini pics for validation, reaching out to a friend with benefits for a quick fix of affection - and how none of it was actually about comforting myself. Because I didn't know how to do that. I didn't even know it was possible. I talk about what it actually looks like to develop an intimate relationship with yourself - how you comfort yourself, how you speak to yourself, how you show up for yourself in the small moments of every day, why your self-worth is directly linked to how you treat yourself, and why we can only love others to the depth we've been willing to go within ourselves. I also share the practical stuff - morning and evening routines, what I actually do to connect with myself each day, and why things don't have to make sense in your logical mind to be the right decision for you. This one's gentle, honest and probably going to make you want to hug yourself. Which, by the way - you absolutely should.
EP 26: I'm Moving Home & Here's What's Been Really Going On
Jul 28, 202644 min
I'm moving back to Australia on the 27th of September. And this last year and a half in Costa Rica - while it might have looked like jungle living and good vibes from the outside - has honestly been one of the most intense, heavy, confusing and quietly profound chapters of my life. I get into what's actually been going on. The plant medicine journey last September that stirred up generational trauma in my lineage. The six months of fear and confusion that followed. The dark moments I haven't talked about publicly. What it's felt like to sit completely alone with all of that and move through it. And why I genuinely believe everything I experienced was preparing me to hold more for the people I serve. I also share what's coming next - the Lighter Life Challenge, my nervous system foundations course, my Costa Rica women's retreat, and the physical detox journey I've just started after getting my hair mineral analysis results back and realising everything is out of whack. This one's honest and unfiltered and I'm so glad I finally sat down to record it.
EP 25: Four Recent Lessons That Have Changed Everything
Jul 21, 202646 min
This one came through in tea ceremony. I sat down with my journal, looked at the notes I'd been collecting over the last few weeks, and this episode just poured out of me. It's a solo one and it's probably one of the most personal things I've shared in a while. I'm walking you through four significant lessons that have genuinely improved my life recently - the kind of stuff that sounds simple and hits different when you actually start living it. The first is social media boundaries and how creating a morning and evening routine that doesn't involve a screen has completely changed my sleep, my nervous system and my mental health. I share exactly what my routine looks like now and what it used to look like - and spoiler, it was not great. The second is authenticity as the vehicle to self-love. I talk about growing up as a chubby kid who lost nine kilos at 12 on a diet of apples and salad just to get people to like her, why I got a boob job, and why I'm getting it taken out in December. This one gets personal. The third is giving back 0 and how finding ways to be of service, whether it's picking up rubbish on your walk or smiling at a stranger, is one of the most direct pathways to feeling fulfilled. And the fourth is health. What came up in my last ayahuasca journey, why I'm now on a physical detox journey, and why I genuinely believe that we need to start paying more attention to what we're putting on and in our bodies before it catches up with us. This one's honest, a little raw, and I hope it lands for you.
