Episode #2
Being Christian at America's Biggest Party School (w/Alyona)
It’s easy to say that Jesus fulfills everything when you’re surrounded by people who share your faith. But what happens when your environment seems to point toward everything except virtue? In this episode, Alyona shares what it’s really like being a Christian at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, a campus known for its party and drinking culture. Rather than letting her environment pull her away from Christ, Alyona’s experience at UW–Madison has actually challenged her to grow deeper in her faith, build genuine friendships with people who don't share her beliefs, and learn how to evangelize in the middle of everyday college life. We also talk honestly about anxiety, mental health struggles, vulnerability, and faith . Alyona opens up about how some of the hardest parts of her journey have ultimately become opportunities to share the Gospel. By being honest about what she has experienced, she has discovered that vulnerability can become a powerful way to evangelize and help others recognize their own need for Jesus. If you're a college student trying to stay close to Jesus in a secular environment, or simply wondering how your own struggles could become part of God's mission, this episode is for you.
