Dr. Christine Perigen Fonner blends science, strategy, and the complexity of relationships to explore what leadership looks like when we stop "performing" and step into the uncomfortable. Listen to the stories shared that shape us as leaders: moments of doubt, courage, conflict, resilience, and clarity that determine how we show up when it matters most. Through raw and powerful conversations with executives, innovators, culture-shapers, and everyday people leading extraordinary change, Christine examines what happens when we choose presence over perfection and radical care over burnout.

Episode #41
41. You Can't Outperform an Overloaded Nervous System
Jun 26, 202626 minS4
What if the key to becoming a better leader isn't working harder, but learning how to regulate your energy, protect your health, and lead from a place of resilience? In this episode of The Executives' Lounge, I sit down with Dr. Susan Lovelle, former award-winning plastic surgeon, professional ballerina, founder of Balanced Performance, and creator of the Thrive by Design™ framework. After building a highly successful medical career, a series of life-threatening health crises forced Dr. Susan to completely rethink what high performance really means. That journey ultimately led her to help executives and organizations create healthier, more resilient workplaces where people and performance can thrive together.Together, we explore why burnout is not simply an individual problem, why leaders cannot separate organizational performance from human well-being, and how nervous system regulation, energy management, and intentional leadership directly influence communication, decision-making, culture, and long-term success. Expect an honest conversation filled with behavioral science, practical strategies, personal stories, and a refreshing reminder that sustainable leadership begins with taking care of the human behind the title. If you've ever wondered how to build a high-performing team without sacrificing your own health, this conversation is for you.More information on Dr. Susan Lovelle:Website: https://www.balancedperformance.pro/
Oscar Trimboli is someone who has redefined what it means to truly listen—not just to others, but to ourselves and what goes unsaid in every conversation. Oscar is the award-winning host of the Deep Listening podcast and author of How to Listen: Discover the Hidden Key to Better Communication. People are actually really bad at actually listening. In fact, within ten minutes of this podcast episode, you’ll start losing focus. By the end, I’ll be lucky if you remember 25% of what was said. Oscar is asking us to really look at how to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and understood. As someone who has researched how toxic leadership erodes women leaders’ sense of safety, belonging, and esteem, Oscar’s message resonates deeply with me. In toxic environments, listening often breaks down or is non existent.. Conversations are navigated for survival. Oscar’s framework shows us that listening itself can be an act of restoration—of dignity, of agency, and of psychological safety. In this episode, we’re diving into how listening can help us reclaim our voices and how we can all become more present, aware, and supportive listeners in every space we occupy. What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
