MISTAKE: Stop Chasing Every Trend, It Won't Grow Your Business
Apr 27, 202635 minS2
If you've been feeling like you're treading water, maintaining the status quo, and wondering why growth still feels so hard, this episode is going to reframe everything. Marissa makes the case for why trend-chasing is the mistake that's actually keeping you from growing, and why the entrepreneurs who are growing right now aren't the ones chasing the next platform or strategy. They're the ones going inward, doubling down on what's working, and cutting the fluff. She introduces the beaker analogy for the four levers (lead acquisition, lead nurture, sales and conversions, lifestyle) and explains why your business is already sending you the signals you need to grow. You just need to learn how to listen. This episode is for experienced entrepreneurs who feel the pull of every new trend, who get the dopamine rush from starting something new, and who are ready to stop chasing what's working for everyone else and start listening to what their business is already telling them. What You'll Learn Understand why trend-chasing is dopamine dressed up as strategy, and how the online business world is engineered to trigger that rush in you Discover why lean, laser-focused businesses are the ones that grow in lean economies, and why spreading yourself thin across multiple trends is keeping your needle bouncing instead of moving Learn the three groups of entrepreneurs who struggle to listen to their metrics: anxious avoiders, intuition-led entrepreneurs, and those who see numbers instead of patterns Find out how the green light, yellow light, red light framework turns your metrics from numbers into actionable patterns Hear the beaker analogy that explains why each business needs different levels of each lever depending on their model Get a preview of the four levers (lead acquisition, lead nurture, sales and conversions, lifestyle) and how manipulating them intentionally creates predictable, repeatable growth Understand why the wisdom to say no to a trend is actually a sign of maturity as a growth stage entrepreneur Featured Quote "Trend chasing is not a growth strategy. It is a distraction strategy. And it's keeping you from the clarity that you will get when you just sit with your current numbers and actually look at how your business is performing right now." Apr 20, 202631 minS2

What if the work you're doing right now in growth stage is building the competencies you'll need for the next twenty years of business?

In this episode, Marissa breaks down the hidden skills you're developing in growth stage that are quieter and harder to measure than the visible skills you built in the early years.
Episode Summary

What if the most powerful thing you could do to grow your business right now isn't chasing more, but settling into what you've already built? From Guessing to Hypothesizing: You're the Scientist Now
Apr 6, 202630 minS2

You know what you sell, who buys it, and how to deliver it. But there's a gap between where your business is and how you're showing up to lead it. In this episode, Marissa introduces the petri dish analogy that changes everything: in build stage, you're inside the petri dish as one of the variables in the experiment. In growth stage, you become the scientist running the experiment. She breaks down why taking responsibility for your business doesn't mean you can't acknowledge external factors, it means you stop using them as excuses. You'll hear about the three barriers that...

What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
Is the 20% annual discount automatic?
Yes. Select Annual on the pricing toggle and the discounted price is applied automatically at checkout. The annual price shown is the full year cost.
What if I have more than 50 profiles or 20 clients?
That is our Enterprise tier. Contact our sales team and we will build a custom plan with volume pricing, a dedicated account manager, and SLA guarantees.
