Faith, Freedom & the Canadian Charter: A Conversation with Brian Peckford - Video
In this episode of The Father’s Life, Michael Pierce sits down with The Honourable Brian Peckford, former Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador and the last living First Minister who signed the 1982 constitutional agreement. Drawing from his experience as a teacher and political leader, Peckford reflects on faith, freedom, Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and the importance of understanding our history. Together, Michael and Brian explore restoring civics education, engaging respectfully across disagreements, and the role believers can play in strengthening their communities and nation. At the heart of the conversation is a challenge to return to first principles—including the Charter’s recognition of “the supremacy of God and the rule of law”—and to become informed, engaged, and willing to take responsibility for the future.
