Exodus 20:2-6 12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: 13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. Mark 11:12-14 KJV 20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. *- Jesus shared that power doesn't come from our choice or prerogative. Power comes from depending on God for what we think, say, and do in every situation. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:20-23 KJV 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24 KJV *- believe: to trust in Jesus or in God as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something. *- Also, to trust in God as able to accomplish what you are relying upon Him to do. *- Believing isn't repeatedly telling yourself something will happen until you feel convinced. *- Believing is relying on God to do what you've asked and making your choices from that reliance. *- Relying on God does not always mean relying on Him to produce the outcome you chose. *- Rely on God concerning whatever outcome He chooses. *- So, don’t plan your next steps based on your way. Step only when God orders which steps you should take. Peter didn’t step until Jesus told him to. Ask Jesus—He answers. *- This distinction protects us from turning faith into a formula. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24 KJV For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10 KJV *- What does your heart do when you pray? *- When we pray, our hearts believe—either in God or in the circumstance we prayed about. Lifework Assignment: *- Believe and leave—believe what God says, do what He says, and leave the results to Him. Expected Behavior: For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. 2 Timothy 1:12 KJV
