329 - Talk to Me (2022) Review
A group of friends experiment with a new trend of using an embalmed hand to communicate with the dead, but when one of them breaks the rules, she starts to believe a spirit has permanently crossed over. Things You Don't Fuck With month is in full swing and Talk to Me fits very nicely into this month. With a modern take on seances and almost comparing the possession to a high, this film has a very unique take on demon possession. This is the full-length feature directorial debut of the Philippou brothers, and they deliver with an original concept that has shocking moments. They're able to successfully bridge prior family trauma and the desire to speak to a loved one who has passed on in a creative way, where this is often poorly executed in horror.
